Probably the best beach in the area, it's suitable for families, dog walkers, couples etc. Calm atmosphere and much less busy than the main Sands and still has toilets and a cafe easily accessible.

Great beach. Fortunate to live close by and visit it most days. Tide does not cover the beach entirely leaving a wide but narrow sandy area at high tide and goes out a long way with a large expanse of clean sand at lie tides....More

It is possible to hire a wheelchair which is designed to move on the sand by booking at the bay inspector's office in Westbrook Bay or on Margate Main Sands. I don't think there is an actual charge but you have to make sure... More

the high street can be a bit daunting but there are lots of very nice areas in margate. tell her to take the plunge she wont regret it and if she is renting she can move around till she finds somewhere that suits her.
