A stunning ten acre garden restored by Australian garden designer Marylyn Abbott over the last twenty years. Combining a classical Lakefield design with a blend of formal and informal planting, English traditions and Australian flair, West Green offers intimacy and spectacle in a country setting. Access to the beautiful Victorian greenhouses is included and a visit to the formally planted vegetable garden is a must! West Green also offers a Tea Room and shop, is entirely accessible for those with limited mobility and each year hosts the West Green House Season of Music and Opera in July, Please note that West Green House is privately owned and not open to the general public.

This garden is creatively and dynamically designed. We were fortunate to have a guided tour by the owner, Marylyn Abbott, and she was very inspiring. If you are a true gardener you will know that areas of gardens go through not only weather seasons but...More

Great little garden, so quiet and peaceful-beautiful! Lovely lunch, no sandwiches but delicious sausage rolls with potatoe salad and green salad. Has to be done, will certainly go again 👏🏻👏🏻

These Gardens are not as well advertised as they should be, if you look carefully you can see where under normal rainfall conditions, the Beautiful water features would be absolutely amazing, unfortunately due to the very long hot spell these were no at their best,...More

Well worth a journey. What a fabulous location and beautifully kept gardens. All great but I particularly liked the flower, vegetable and fruit tree arrangements. Nice half hour walk even when baking hot due to tree shade. Good cafe on site. Dipley Mill gardens are...More

West Green house is always good to visit and has many interesting and enjoyable events to go to too. The cafe/ tea room is very nice too and many beautiful places to walk in the gardens especially the Italian garden . Recommended

Visited the house on a very hot Sunday afternoon. Blissful walk along shady paths surrounded by beautiful plants. Quite even ground so ok for buggies. Finished with a fab cream tea. Will definitely be returning to view it in the autumn.

Found this place online when looking to entertain a visiting elderly parent. First off, it's really NOT accessible for a wheelchair - some of the paths are too narrow, much of the gravel is too deep and you have to "off road" in places. It's...More

Visited whilst the Opera was on. Great gardens but sections restricted because of the Opera and Water feature was chained off which was a shame. Worth a visit, loved the Greenhouses but lots of elderly visitors the day we visited and some were rude and...More

Took my 95 yo father who can only walk a few steps so we used his wheelchair. Problems include: 1. Most garden paths are pea shingle - not conducive to narrow or small wheels 2. A chain across a sensible access for wheelchairs forces carers...More

Yes but it's a bit tricky getting through the shop and cafe and then into the gardens.
