There are lots of interesting plaques on the rail all along the pier from people who love Southwold. The amusements have some different M/cs that you do not see anywhere else. There are a couple of gift shops and cafes.

Great little penny arcade, nice promenade to walk along with various things to see. Cafes, shops, and an amazing George Orwell piece of art!

Beautiful pier with some rather unique arcade games (if you wander slightly up the pier). We also visited The Boardwalk on the pier for afternoon tea which was excellent value for money.

No trip to Southwold is complete without a trip to the pier. We have many happy memories of the eccentric arcade games, and this particularly enjoyed the submarine ride, trying to "climb the housing ladder", braving the fierce guard dog, and pirate training school. The...More

Southwold pier is what seaside memories are made of. The traditional pier has places to eat, drink, shop, have fun and relax but the real winner for us was the wacky walk of mirrors. Belly laughs and tears of joy from a 5 year old...More
