If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

With concrete piles it’s not so old as most piers but it’s free and relaxed with a number of cool features- a water clock and the home made amusement arcade. Good views of the town from the end

Great place to spend an hour or so (especially on a warm day) interesting shops and several cafes - nice views back along the coast and plenty of places to sit

The lighthouse is great, but to me, this was the best part of Southwold. My mother's family is from a coastal town, so I liked the windy atmosphpere of the pier and all the photographic opportunities it provided. While the walk is short, it provides...More

Hardly worth the walk and very crowded. Disappointing beach and pier and there are far nicer places along the coast. Would not bother with this.

Loved under the pier show. Had refreshments at tea room. Shopped . Looked and read brass plaques along the edge rails. Toilets clean.

Lots of things to do and look at on the pier, with a superb cafe at the start with fantastic fish and chips! A nice walk on a lovely day. Very clean and attractive.

Hi Kevin Apologies for the late response. All plaques that are placed on the pier stay up indefinitely so it will certainly still be there. We look forward to seeing you on your trip this Summer. Kind regards Peter
