If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

There is an amusement arcade at the entrance of the pier, on the pier are opportunities for drinks and ice-creams.We spent a while reading all the little brass memorials attached to the railings.

We had to cut our visit short, due to our son being stung by a wasp, the pier is lovely, but there is a definite wasp problem. The end of the pier show is great we really enjoyed the machines, great imagination.

There isn’t a lot to do or see on this smallish pier. There are the obligatory gift shops, cafe and a rather quirky amusement type affair with really old fashioned curiosities such as the man behind steel bars who gradually wakes up the faster you...More

Southwold has got the balance right! Just enough places the eat, drink and have fun, while keeping the place traditional and somewhat tranquil and clean. We absolutely loved this place. Parking was easy and not far to walk to the pier. On the pier, there...More

We visited today and it wasn’t to busy on the beach. Parking was available, but coins only, no card payment accepted. The beach huts are lovely, very clean and loved walking around and finding the Adnams shop. Overall a lovely place to visit

A lovely pier, with no entry cost. Not enormous but has a fun 'under the pier' show of weird & wonderful arcade machines. A pleasant walk to the end with lovely views back over the town
