This is an interesting, historic site. Much of it, like most of the abbeys in England, is in ruin, but a couple of parts, including the Lady Chapel, is still in use. Leiston is a little of the beaten track, but if youi enjoy looking...More

We had passed it many times whilst on holiday in the area, then one afternoon we drove down the lane to see what was there. Within the extensive ruined abbey there is a music school. Whilst we wondered are the ruins there was enchanting music...More

What a fascinating ruined Abbey this is. Very unusual order of monks built it and the remains are splendidly atmospheric. You just don’t expect to find something like this is sleepy Suffolk

Extensive ruin worth visiting. The size of the refectory is a big surprise considering that so few people stayed here. Beautiful place, especially in good weather.

English Heritage property. Extensive ruins with helpful information boards. Very peaceful. We were the only visitors there which is a shame. Deserves more!

This is an amazingly atmospheric place. The ruins reek of history and in sunshine the remaining stone arches stand starkly against a blue Suffolk sky. It’s well curated with helpful notices around the site. There are no facilities here at all such as lavatories or...More

We passed the ruins and sign, so we turned around to find out more. We were free to wander (and wonder) as there is no guide, but there are a few weather beaten information boards scattered around. There is no admission fee or donation box,...More
