Only if you're keen

We love our markets and were disappointed with both Kuranda markets. When we walked in the first 5 stalls were empty. The remainder sold hippie clothing, opals/gemstones, leather goods and the cheap tourist stuff. Not even much food stalls. Allow yourself about 15 minutes to get through the market at a leisurely pace.

Sadly, not worth it

Had been told by people that we must go to Kuranda Markets, as they had been years ago and loved it. Not sure if it’s Covid or something else, but it definitely wasn’t worth visiting. It felt like a sad, empty shell of something that was maybe once great, but is no more.

Highly recommend for all ages

What an amazing experience we had visiting here. The kids loved going on the army duck, seeing the aboriginal dancers and seeing all the animals. The park was well set out, easy to get around with a pram and staff were really helpful.

We paid a little extra and did the hands on visit with the kolas and a keeper which I highly recommend.

This attraction was value for money and I highly recommend it.

Disappointed : Empty
May 2021
Disappointed but still nice to look at the colour. These markets were supposed to be open on a Monday when we went but alas, lucky to be 3 stalls open in the whole place. Easy stroll around the terraced walkways and plenty of colourful artwork to enjoy

A quirky pleasant experience

Very much a relaxed hippie market. Lots of stalls selling various things from hippie clothing to getting dreadlocks and henna body painting. There was a nice little rainforest walk which was enjoyable.. Definitely a place to experience if you're in Kuranda.

Don't waste your time!!!
May 2021 • Couples
These markets are a waste of time! The setting is quite nice but apart from a few places to eat there is nothing of interest to buy. Kuranda is a lovely little village though and there is a birdlike park and butterfly farm you can visit.

Kuranda Markets
Sep 2020 • Couples
The beautiful Kuranda just outside of Cairns so much to see, what an amazing little town.

From the magical and mystical rainforest markets running from Thursday - Monday and the walking tracks! There is also an Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Kuranda Koala Gardens and so many Gelato Shops🦋🐨🍦If you are in Cairns you must go for a quick day trip even if you aren’t doing the sky-rail or train ride (which we didn’t do)
