Amazing landform and even more appealing when you can see the amazing cloud formations at sunset. Wonderful from any direction including from the Noosa River but special from close up. Although not normally open to the public (access is only available through public property), it...More

Mount Cooroy is a prominent land feature when in Noosa Heads and the area around Cooroy and that is about it as it is not open to the public to hike or climb. Enjoy the views of the hill particularly looking west up Noosa River...More

Most people think of Glasshouse or Mount Coolum but this is a more interesting land-form, one of 7 volcanic plugs in the region, it has a wonderful conical shape that stands out from any direction.

Climbing this mountain is challenging as the paths are not well defined and you need someone who knows the track. The views from the top are glorious. Go early in the morning so you can descend early in hot weather and take plenty of water...More

Love it from any direction or viewing - spent a day cruising the river and no matter where we travelled, this volcanic plug dominated the landscape - a beautiful "mountain" which is such a contrast to the coastal sights.

Always wonderful but special with the sunsets and colours in the late afternoon- a majestic shape and yes, it can be climbed , one day a year in October.

Whilst staying in Noosa we had a sightseeing day around the local attractions and visited Cooroy. On the way in we could see this mountain and going out of town a different way we could see it again. There was just something magical about its...More
