Not too great when it's dry, but you can tell it's fantastic when it's wet!

We came to Hasties swamp on a rainy day in fleeting hopes of seeing something interesting and got to see around 15 bird species I'd never seen before including bush stone-curlews and purple swamphens. Great way to spend an hour!

Our naturalist guide stopped by here to see if there was anything interesting, but it is very dry, so not much. But it's got a lovely blind & when it's full, there is a ton of wildlife we're told...so definitely worth a stop!

We have visited Hasties three times over the last decade. Each visit is different. Depending on the time of year there are many species or lots of individuals of one. Always interesting. The hide is well set up, comfortable, and easy to observe or photograph...More

Great views from the bird hide which has two levels. The noise from the Whistling ducks was amazing as they were there in huge numbers. A few other species evident but sadly the new roof has seen the microbat leave its roost.

Stepping out of the car, before taking the boardwalk to the birdhide, the whistling of the ducks is almost deafening (nice though). Hasties swamp had the largest number of birds I have seen there on our yearly visit to the Tablelands. The two-storey birdhide provides excellent...More

Well worth the visit. The bird hide is really great and I have never seen so many birds in the one place. One of the signs has gone missing so just make sure you turn left at the side road. It can be difficult to...More

We were on our way home and decided to do a quick detour to have a look in the park. Would come back in the early morning to check out the birds. Amazing to see the different types all collected as one place.

The hide is very good indeed, with good views out over the water. At this time of year (July) there are large numbers of a few species which is quite a sight.

Not too much to be seen here in April but we spent enjoyable hour in the hide watching what was there. A tranquil and beautiful place to while away some time.
