Go at sunset to see the flocks of magpie geese, whistling ducks and brolgas [& Sarus Cranes] landing. Amazing to see how they navigate and manage not to crach into each other. Just good ol' nature doing her thing. A must of you are a...More

Went here today and could not believe the number of birds!! Mainly Water Whistle ducks and Magpie geese. A few pink Eared Teal. Well worth a visit! Have been to several bird hides with very few birds. A short drive from Atherton township.

We were taken to the bird hide at the 'swamp' in late afternoon, complete with wine, cheese and nibbles. The hide is an excellent structure with two levels to choose from. Also has a nearby loo, which is always useful! We watched the hundreds of...More

The hide is well built, a beautiful view over the swamp from upstairs. A very peaceful place, ideal to wind down after a busy day or the perfect spot for a picnic. ( as there is shade) Some of the trees were covered with tiny...More
