It’s been at least 4 years since visiting this beautiful little temple. Although small you get a real feel for the people and era. Lots of interesting things to see a guide to show you through. Really enjoyed it as did my friend.

Visited on Friday 14th September. It was very interesting to see and hear about the early history in Atherton. The guide was informative and provided sufficient time to wonder around. Best of all it's free for National Trust Visitors.

Established in 1903 the temple and furnishings are all authentic. It sits on the site of a chinese village that was abandoned in the 1950's. The temple is the last remaining building in beautifully kept grounds.

Worth taking time to learn the true history of the tablelands. Who would know without the dedication of the Chinese people building a village in far north Qld.

The museum was great but the guided tour of the temple was even better. The guide had amazing knowledge and passion. Really enjoyed it.

An absolutely amazing place, the temple is 115 years old, I recommend the guided tour of the temple. The museum was amazing as well, you can take your time, & have a good look around. 👍

We did not know this temple existed until we stopped at Atherton Big 4 Holiday Park. It was just a couple of hundred metres away. Although devastated by Cyclone Yasi, locals have worked tirelessly to try and restore it. The temple is interesting in that...More

We visited the display room where there was a lot of North Queensland gold mining and Atherton China Town history story boards. We were then taken out to the temple by a tour guide who relayed a lot of very interesting information about the local...More
