Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hiked this area several times during out 10 day stay in Sechelt & visiting the family.
The trails are well marked, and very well maintained. There are quite a few old growth Doug firs and a very large cedar that the trails take you by.
If you like trees, solitude and enjoy hiking around, this is not to be missed.

We spent over an hour here meandering around the forest paths. It was very quiet and peaceful and there are so many trails that we barely ran into anyone.
The wheelchair accessible path has signs on the various types of trees and ferns. You can also see where the First Nations used to harvest the cedar bark.
The trails are well marked and each junction has a map so you cannot get lost. The old growth trees are Douglas firs and the largest are named/marked on the trail map.
Listen for the birds here - we heard/saw robins, tree creepers and nuthatches.

Beautiful trails and very well marked. Rich and lush rainforest walk, with some very tall trees. Easily navigatable and some trails are accessible for less able bodied individuals. Interesting interpretive signage at the start of the trails, and well laid out maps available as well. Great way to spend a couple of hours.

This is a well maintained and well marked system of trails. Lovely green covered forest floors with amazing old trees. A really nice way to spend a couple of hours ... close in to Sechelt.

This hiking spot was recommended by the lady at the Sechelt Visitor Centre, and she was right! It is a beautiful off-the-beaten-track place to hike among the trees, in the fresh air. They aren't as large as ones elsewhere, but they are nonetheless impressively large and beautiful, especially the many that were covered by mosses. The hikes are generally shorter than they look on the maps, and quite easy, even the ones with a bit of slopes to them.

Live not far from the Park. This is not a government or municipal park, it is volunteers who build and maintain the trails! Pick up map at the onsite info centre. There are 2 wheelchair access trails. A well marked trail system. Trail rating easy to moderate. No bicycles allowed. Dogs welcomed as long as they are friendly and get along with other dogs. Often see joggers on the trails. My favorite trail to take friends, family to - make your way to the black trail on the hydro lines for a fabulous view of Sechelt sitting between the ocean and inland sea! Take your camera and sit awhile.

An incredible set of trails minutes from downtown Sechelt. There are a plethora of marked trails. All expertly built by a hard working volunteer crew. Beautiful old forests and giant trees. As a nature lover and hiking enthusiast, I whole-heartedly recommend these trails to locals and visitors alike!

This really is a wonderful place for a hike. There is a network of trails, all well marked, and with a map at each intersection. You can go on a small, circular and fairly level trail - Monty's Way - which has occasional informative signs which tell you about the trees, shrubs and even a little about First Nations use of forest resources.
For more adventurous walkers, take one of the side trails, and follow whatever takes your fancy. The maps at the intersections include gradients and steep trails are marked as such.
It is an off-leash park so expect dogs on the loose. If they are two border collies then I might be coming along behind!
Note there are no washroom facilities here.

Hidden Groves was a well maintained collection of trails with some interesting signs explaining the history of the area. The hikes are relatively easy (even the one marked as steep) and are color coded. At every junction there is a map showing you where you are so it's pretty much impossible to get lost. We ventured through most of the trails and looked for the spots that had "big trees". Overall, it was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

I have been twice. One time my husband and I went and once I took a friend from Australia. It is a lovely, shaded walk. It is not too challenging.
