About
Not to be confused with the Mile 0 Cairn, the Mile Zero Post is located downtown Dawson Creek at 102 Avenue and 10 Street. It marks Mile "0 " on the Alaska Highway (1 block south of the Station Museum). The Mile Post was erected in 1946.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I have been driving the Alaska Highway to the Yukon every Aug for over twenty years and this is the stop not to be missed. It welcomes you to the highway. We always read the sign about the highway, take our photo, proceed to the visitor center with its beautiful flowers and small museum and get new info on the road--construction and delays, then proceed to the other mile marker in the middle of the road. Another great photo op but watch for traffic! This is a true welcome to the Alaska Highway.

Not much going on, it was nice to stop and get a photo at the landmark as it was less than busy as not many travelers are on the road these days.

It's a cool place to take pictures. It's double sided so snap from one side to capture the town and traffic and the other for the grain elevator type buildings. You should check out the visitor info centre and museum and this is right by it. Makes a great picture to post on social media.

Historically a must see. Take time to read about how this area came about and the importance of it all. True history. Take time to look around and if you are RVers there’s many accommodations and within walking distance. Remember this is a tourist attraction so many passing thru wanting same picture at post. Be patient, help each other out and chat with those around. You’ll be surprised how much fun you can have by chatting.

In early March 1942 this is where construction began for the Alaska Highway Real nice museum and has a town as was set up in the early 40's and the Grain Elevator. We happened to be there at the end of June when they have an all weekend concert on the RV campgrounds. No charge for concert, just Pay By Donation.

If you’re traveling the Alcan, be sure to stop and take your picture with the Mile 0 marker. There’s a visitor’s center nearby, but it was closed during our visit.

The actual sigh post is one block away from the highway. The information center staff are very helpful and we got most of our Alaskan travel info here. We arrived during an antique car show. It is so relaxing to stroll along the main street. The weather was perfect in the first week of July 2019/
