Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As I traveled along I-77, I decided to stop in Statesville NC just North of Charlotte. TripAdvisor listed the Mountain Biking Museum as a top attraction. Turns out it was a bike shop that had a lot of old bikes on display. The owners of the shop had just passed away and their heirs decided to close the shop and open it exclusively as the museum. It will be interesting to see how it is transformed.

From the first wooden bicycles to those of modern day, this is a "must" stop for anyone interested in bicycles. Two floors of prototypes, Tour de France bicycles, Stingrays, as well as art and store advertising that go back to the 1920s. Housed in a beautiful old building from the 1800's. Be sure to look UP at all the stuff hanging from the ceiling!

Recently we moved to Statesville, NC, and as a road cyclist rider I had to check out the local bike shop.
Unbelievable selection of new and vintage bikes.

Just a regular bike store now. Friendly clerk stated that the museum was closed two years ago. That he is sorry visitors still get confused. It was on my list as part of my visit to Statesville. Little disappointed. The downtown area remains a great walking place to wonder about all kinds of small stores.
