Don't miss seeing the sunset over the lagoon, whether you are a bird watcher or not! This is a magic place with abundant water birds. The track is a little rough from the main road but can be easily managed without 4WD.

off the beaten track a little still suitable for vehicles do not need four wheel drive but the experience is rewarding

What a wonderful spot for bird watching. Make sure you leave yourself with plenty of time to just sit and watch. Lagoon is filled with waterlilies and teaming with fish. Bird life is wonderful to watch in the hide. It is quite a rough track...More

though still in the rainy season, making some roads impassible, we rented a 4 wheel drive Mitsubishi, which served us well in the Billabong. A cacaphony of sound, with an endless stretch of waterlilies in bloom, and bird movement everywhere. 16 kms. from Wyndham.

There were so many birds around and we watched a huge saltwater crocodile for quite a while, as it rested on the bank. A true oasis in the middle of nowhere.
