This is quite a relief to find on the dusty and rough Gibb River Road. They also run the campsite which is about 5km down the road. You access Manning Gorge from here.

Exactly what you need after a long, long drive on the Gibb River Road. The Mt Barnett Roadhouse is a nice stop for refueling purposes, but also brings in a small supermarket. Besides the expensive supermarket, they do have a lovely little take-away restaurant attached....More

I understand that the distances are fast and that it costs money to transport the goods. But four to five times the normal price for groceries? Petrol was at $2.25 a litre which was expensive but understandably so.

Had to buy fuel and LPG gas there. The diesel was $2.05/L and the gas $9.50/Kg thus costing almost $90 to refill a 8.5 kg gas bottle. Unbelievable.
