We decided to pay a quick visit to derby on our way to Fitzroy crossing from Broome. The tides were yellow as they were bringing mud and sand. Very different from Broome. There were quite a few people fishing and crabbing on the wharf. They...More

The tide is so fast at the Derby Jetty that the sediment in the water does not have time to settle resulting in ice coffee coloured water. Sunsets, Fishing and the Low and High Tides are all things that the Jetty are great to see...More

The Derby Jetty and Wharf is a must see on your visit to Derby with amazing tidal heights you must see at low and high. For those who like to try their hand at fishing, a variety of fish can be caught off the jetty....More

Drove out to the jetty twice, once on high tide and once at low tide, 10.8 meters difference, amazing. Big mud flats extend way out and the jetty piles are high and dry at low tide. It is hard to imagine how the early sailors...More

Tidal Differences in Derby are truly amazing, to experience the best of the tides they are best viewed over larger tides rather than neaps. Sunsets at the Jetty are also well worth the visit. A lot of the boats in the early years that visited...More

This is an interesting place to visit to see the different tides, the sunset or a stroll along the jetty. The jetty railings are not very secure so young people need to be watched. It was a treat to see the area at low tide...More

This is a jetty with a difference. This is the only circular one that I have visited. It is a great spot to sit and enjoy the sunsets.More

Nice jetty and quite a few people fishing and crabbing here. Tried a Boab tree nut and visited Woolworth a few times. Our car needed an urgent repair. Tried a few places and being refused. Kimberley Automotive helped us out and they are extremely friendly....More

Great place to view the sunset and see the locals fishing and strolling about. Birds on the mud flats (we were there at low tide) and crabs if you look closely. Also get a good idea of how high the tide is. Got some wonderful...More

The Derby Jetty is one of the most visited places in town and a must at both High and Low tides. The sunsets at the Wharf can be absolutely spectacular.

Sadly disused now - it was wonderful to witness the tide turning: Such a great expanse of sand and shallows , then quietly the waters began returning to the shores. Many mullet came with the first shallow waves of water, eagerly seeking the worms as...More

Honestly not exciting or picturesque, just a jetty on the mud flats, not commercially used anymore. Not far from town and it’s an easy walk along the jetty and return, careful as some of the railings on one side are broken and the other side...More
