Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Oct 2014 • Family
My family was in Moonta for the Labour Day weekend and I sent an email to BC charters in advance to see if we could take our two kids (7 and 6) out fishing. Prompt reply and all sorted for 2 hours on the water at a fixed fee. Met James (the owner) as arranged at Port Hughes jetty (his car number plate gives him away!). Right from first meeting, we knew we were in good hands. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Professional fishing runs in James' family and it shows - he knows his stuff and the local area intimately. Advised us that on this particular day our best option was blue crab fishing and he was spot on. Boat (a beauty) launched, we were off. James knew exactly where to head and 6 pots were quickly laid in a line, kids involved all the way which they loved. Then one by one we pulled the pots up - none were empty. As well as lots of blue crab we also caught two Pt Jackson sharks and a spider crab! We did three circuits of the pots and kids were in their element. James was very patient and answered all their (many!) questions and let them have a go on the helm. Finally headed back to Port Hughes, already over our two hours. James then realised that we might have more blue crab than we'd be able to cook properly at our self catering property. No problem - he invited us back to his house where he kindly cooked and packaged them all and refused to take any for himself. All in all we were with him for 3.5 hours. No word of extra fees being charged for the extra time, cooking or esky/ice etc but we paid him more as we had all had an exceptional morning out on the water. There are plenty of fishing charter options in this area but if you have young children (and of course even if you don't) then BC charters come highly recommended by us. We hope to do another trip later this year.
