- Allison RGlenmont, New York70 contributionsStop in - totally worth it.A fantastic market with lots of farm vendors. Highly recommend stopping in especially if you are staying in Raleigh for a few days and want to get some incredible food to make or just snack on; lots of fresh fruits. Plants are beautiful and lots of jams/jellies/sauces to choose from.Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 June 2023
- Deb CMilton, Delaware281 contributionsGreat placeWhat an awesome place ! Visiting from another state and Stopped by here while trying to find the Market Imports. All the fresh fruits and vegetables! Couldn’t buy enough and had a hard time deciding which vendor to buy from. Check out the garlic folks and the elephant garlic. Also there was a florist right near them that will not disappoint. You know the flowers are good when you can smell them before you can see them.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 June 2023

I'm SO thankful that I live within a few miles of this place. I usually visit on Saturdays and load up on fruits and veggies. There are LOTS of other things there as well -- plants, fudge, ice cream, other food, and flowers.
It's really great being able to support local farmers. Yes, sometimes the prices are slightly higher than the grocery stores, but it's worth it. Well worth it!
Be sure to hit the website so you can see what's in season when (always good to know!), and don't worry about parking. I've NEVER had a problem finding a space any day of the week!

Great variety of seasonal, locally grown produce as well as garden & landscape plants, interior/ exterior home decor, restaurant, sweet treats like fudge & ice cream, novelties and more. Parking is very rarely an issue and access is right off the beltline. Open seven days a week which is very convenient. If you know what you want, you can be in and out in no time, but if you want to browse, give yourself a few hours to take it all in. Oh yes, it's all weather protected so you can go rain or shine.

Can't say enough good things about this local gem. Year-round they have the best and freshest seasonal produce. Vendors are always friendly, helpful, and most will let you sample. This is also a great place to go in spring for bedding plants or vegetable plants. Strawberries in April; Peaches in June; seafood all the time. Best selection of fresh cut Christmas trees in season, too. Cash is king, although some vendors are able to take plastic.

What a treat to see all the goodies these vendors have for sale. There were fruits and vegetables that I had never seen. It's hard to know who to buy from because there are so many choices. The vendors have samples to enjoy and they are friendly and helpful. Unfortuneatly, I am leaving tomorrow for Az., so buying any produce was out of the question. There is nothing even close to this market near where I live. Loved the market

Farmers Market always has variety, vendors and products galore. Great for purchasing and putting up in canning jars or in your freezer. You'll never want to go back to store bought. Friendly vendors always giving out samples - so you can taste before you buy. They are also very helpful with preparation tips and recipes. The market also offers MANY North Carolina made products - wines, jellies, candles, pickles, meat, crafts and baked goods. The events are fantastic and well attended. The seasons bring in different planting, pumpkins, Christmas trees and wreaths, etc. Restaurants on grounds are great. Great place to take your time and see it all.

I recently went to the farmers market for the first time with a few friends who were visiting. We went towards the end of the day and a lot of vendors were either packing up and leaving or already gone, even though there were still 3 hours left. The vendors that were there had a ton of great produce and other products. The complex is huge so make sure you give yourself lots of time to explore. We are planning on going back in the summer in hopes that there are more vendors, more produce, and warmer weather since it is mostly outdoors.

Me and the wife try to get out to the Farmers Market every week or two. Loads of vendors selling their produce, candies, baked goods. Not really sure if the prices are any lower than a grocery store (wife does the purchasing) but I do feel better about putting the money in the farmers hand. Also, try that restaurant right across the street up on the hill....good country cooking.

Our visit in October was probably special because of the Halloween season decorations, but the experience was great. We saw more pumpkins than you can imagine, all shapes, types and sizes. We bought gourds, Indian corn and a pumpkin to take home to Florida. The German bakery items were delicious and authentic, but slightly expensive. There is a wonderful selection of hundreds of herb types and fresh flowers that were beautiful. There were many types of apples available and samples to help you select. Parking was ample and convenient, and there is no fee involved. I can't wait to visit again.
