This was cool to see in person too. We had a slight detour due to road work but very neat to see. Wish the water had been on, but definitely beautiful view of the mountains!

We had a very nice time walking the path along the river up to the Dam. Then we rode over the Dam and they had a pull over at the end of the Dam where you could get out and see all the beauty!! Breathtaking!!

The roads are small and due to the time of year it did not seem very inviting. I wanted to take photos, but there were a lot of construction vehicles in the parking lot, so we were unable to park. I wish we would've been...More

The view from the bottom is pretty impressive. The steep gorge it is built in makes for good scenery

While we were staying in Murphy we passed the damn on the way to a day trip at the falls. Made a stop on the way back and enjoyed the beautiful view of Lake Hiwasee.

It was a wonderful day with a smooth lake and even had fisherman in a boat at the bottom of the dam. The view of the area around the lake is so serene.

Love visiting the TVA dams in WNC. The history and significance of these structures is truly striking. The fishing opportunities are the bonus. Unlike Fontana Dam, you can still drive on this one. Tall and striking, the views are also beautiful. Boat ramp onto the...More

The dam is amazing but not really a recreational spot......restrooms and some picnic tables and that is about the extent of it. Looking at the power of the dam and the water is pretty special though.

Yes, at the base of the dam there is a picnic spot. We fished there (or tried to) but the current was moving too fast. There is an area close by where you can rent a boat and fish on the lake.
