We saw a herd of Elk crossing the river and heading to the open field. It was a wonderful sight. This is an easy to walk trail!

This trail is very pleasant. It begins at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center, and follows a stream to some historic cabins that are very interesting. The hike is easy, and the scenery is peaceful and pleasant.
