This may the most interesting cemetery I've ever visited. Lot of OLD history, some sad, some strange but all interesting. Located next to Anne Street Methodist Church but kept up by the Town of Beaufort. If you like visiting cemeteries rich with history, I'd suggest...More

While in Beaufort, do visit the Old Burial Ground. Your tour can be self-guided or you can get a paid guide from the BHA. Don't miss the grave of British soldier buried standing up and the young girl buried in a rum barrel.

I use to work across the street from this graveyard, and would pass the gates frequently on my breaks...and this graveyard was always cooler and darker than anything around it. This graveyard is historical and it's a great place to visit for the history buff...More

We did a walk through. There were pamphlets to read and match up with the numbers around the burial ground. It was interesting to see.

We only had about ten minutes to visit here, but glad that we did. The Azaleas and Wisteria were in full bloom (early April). We had a brochure from the Visitor's Center with lots of interesting stories about people buried here. Worth a stop if...More

This graveyard was loaded with history. There is a phone app you can download to do a voice guided tour. Nice that they have preserved the local history and promoted it.

No charge to enter the burying ground, but they ask a $1 for the brochure with brief commentary on a number of the graves. Not sure what the current fee is for a tour guide, but sometimes you get a free short tour with a... More
