About
Whiteface may have made its name in winter, it has the highest vertical drop in the east, after all but it does summer pretty well too. The warmer months make Whiteface a natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels and ages, whether you're looking for an adrenaline rush or just an afternoon of beautiful views with your family. Take a hike along the Stag Brook Falls trail or Bear Den Mountain, play a round of Disc Golf and check out the area's most exhilarating, challenging Mountain Biking terrain. Or gather the family for an afternoon of taking it all in with a Scenic Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride to the summit of Little Whiteface. Drive the Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway to the summit, and lean into the Adirondack breeze as you marvel at the world below you. This well-known mountain offers exciting and scenic runs for skiers of all levels: Beginners do well on Easy Acres, which features its own ski school, novices and intermediates enjoy Little Whiteface, while experts head to the heart-pounding summit.

    Beautiful
Beautiful spot. There are 2 ways to reach the summit from the parking area - take the stairs & then hike up the summit nature trail or walk through a long, stone-carved tunnel to reach an elevator. Keep in mind, that once the stairs end, you’ll be climbing over boulders to get to the summit. Also, be prepared for cooler temperatures & wind gusts. The drive up Veterans’ Memorial Highway cost $20/driver, $20/2nd passenger, and $10 for each additional passenger. Ages 6 & under are free. There is no same day return visit.

Amazing ride and would definitely do it again. You could see forever!
The Little Whiteface Cloudsplitter Gondola ride, was one of the highlights of our bus trip to New York. The ride up the mountain was pleasant with lots to see and was long. Each time we thought we were at the top we went over a rise and kept going. The views were breathtaking. If you’re in this area you don’t want to miss this.

    Great place to visit.
If you are ever in this area, this place is so worth seeing. Great views, interesting hike to the top from the parking lot, or you can take the tunnel and elevator instead. The road up is steeper than usual, so a lower gear is needed coming down. There is a toll. It's not too much. In the visitors center by the parking lot are restrooms and a gift shop. The hike from the visitors center to the viewing area at the top is steep, but short. It consists of steps and existing rocks. It has rails on the sides for safety. I went up but took the elevator down, because it looked harder going down.

This was a great experience! Whiteface Mountain has beautiful views, friendly staff, and great instructors for private or group lessons. I just want to put it out there that this is not a mountain to go to if you are planning a family trip and have different levels of skiing. I was disappointed that there was not a green or easy blue run that went to the top of the mountain and could take to the bottom. I believe this mountain is for more advanced skiers not so much for a novice skier. There was no scenic trails for beginners/ intermediate that stayed on a green. Other than that Whiteface is a great place to ski!

Took the ride up which is worth it itself, with plenty of places to pull over and admire the views. The hike or elevator to the top was also a must do as the views were spectacular and there are fun rocks to climb around on.

The Cloudsplitter Gondola ride was amazing! The views were outstanding from the top of the gondola ride, but be sure to take the Veterans Memorial Highway to the absolute top of the mountain too!

Great views! We appreciated the tunnel and elevator to get up to the peak. We used the stairs to descend.

Gondola ride - overpriced. $25 per person. Obviously a fantastic view but they should charge $10 a person. Glad I did it but never again.
