About
Cave Cruzer Boat Tours is the original Whitianga Marine Adventure Tour. Our open vessel gives you 360 degree unimpeded views, NO ROOF means you can experience the full height of the majestic landscape and will take you into places that other boats cannot. You will learn local history of interest and visit caves, blowholes and the Marine Reserve where you will see an abundant amount of sea life. We take you to the world famous Cathedral Cove, the beautiful set used for part of the Prince Caspian/Narnia movies. Shakespeares Cliff, Cooks Blowhole, Champagne Rock and the Orua Sea Cave (NZ's 2nd biggest sea cave), to name a few. NZ fur seals can be seen frolicking in the crystal clear waters from time to time and if you are really lucky, we have a NZ Department of Conservation licence to view all Marine life in the area. Safety is paramount and we as a company are committed to providing you with the best experience in the 'Bay' on the day. This area is a photographers dream!

The Cave Cruzer I would recommend, because the guide had excellent knowledge about the areas we went. He made the tour fun, by playing the music inside the cave, and letting people get out and have a snorkel around.
Highly recommend this tour, especially if you want to see some of the best parts of the Coromandel.

We picked this activity due it’s high praise and reasonable price, and it didn’t disappoint. It was evident from the beginning the skipper, Brian; wanted to ensure an enjoyable experience for his passengers. We explored various locations significant to the coromandel peninsula’s history. Brian entertained us with knowledge surrounding rock and cave formations in relation to early settlers. The skipper also made time for some guests who wished to snorkel or swim. He also photographed us which allowed us to fully appreciate the scenery. Overall, I would recommend this activity to any one in the area.

A fabulous boat trip with the highlight being seeing the sea caves with their turquoise waters and acoustics. The landscape is just majestic and a must-see when visiting this area of NZ. The boat driver and tour guide Brian was entertaining and very professional in making sure all passengers had a front view of the attraction and very safety conscious.

Very fast, very powerful boat goes at full throttle. Everyone in our group loved it, including the kids. The feedback was that this was definitely the right choice and it was probably the highlight of our very enjoyable long weekend around Cooks Beach.

Sitting in the front on a choppy day is definitely not safe for anyone with a bad back. The skipper manages the throttle to navigate the waves but the impact can be very hard. At the back is still very exciting but the back of the boat does not leave the water, so it does not get so much of the impact from when the front slaps down. The skipper rotates everyone to give everyone a go at the front, but you won’t be forced.

I don’t believe this boat will make anyone seasick, as there is not much of a heaving motion. Our daughter gets sea sick but she was fine and loved being right up the front.

It’s just an amazing experience. Cave Cruze boat tour is quite exceptional and worth of every dollar paid. Brain was an extraordinary skipper and his humour, knowledge, and zeal to explain people about all the caves and things around Whitianga Marine adventure was just so special for us today. We enjoyed the entire 2 hours trip and make sure to “hold” properly when the boat is on very high speed..haha..Brian gives us good instructions and he informs us before the pace of the boat speeds up quite quick. Overall, it is a must do activity and go with the ultimate adventure cave tour, with Brian as the lead to enjoy and have the best ever experience. Thanks Brian to your awesomeness.

This was an exceptional trip around the bay, with amusing commentary from Brian and some fabulous flips over the waves that left our stomachs in our throats! We all had an opportunity to sit in the front seats where you get to experience the greatest thrills and ample photo opportunities are provided too.
Even though the water was quite choppy, we got to go inside one of the blowholes, but weren't able to go inside some of the caves for obvious safety reasons.
The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful and we even encountered friendly snapper at the snorkel sites.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable trip and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We,and 10 others, experienced an enjoyable morning speed-around inner Mercury Bay. Unfortunately an easterly breeze was blowing making visits to a number of sites difficult and snorkelling a challenge. Fortunately nobody took this latter option. For all of that, it was an entertaining and informative couple of hours. We were well looked after by Brian the skipper.
One comment. I didn't read the fine print before starting the trip but anyone who has lower back issues should maybe not do it. The skipper can't influence the behaviour of the weather or of the sea and, although he puts health and safety of the passengers as the number one management item, some of the wave impacts were large and beyond his control.
Don't let me put you off. This is a great way to fill in a Whitianga morning and we recommend that you do it.

Brian was excellent from the minute we arrived. He was very clear with what we could expect, the conditions today were going to shorten the trip and her explained the conditions to expect.
Everyone was given an option to pull out or go ahead with a shortened trip.
We still got an amazing experience, lots of fun and thrills, so great views and Brain was informative with how local knowledge.
Will be back on a calmer day for a full experience

Such an amazing experience! Captain Brian was a great tour guide providing us with entertainment with acoustics inside the caves and key information about the caves and beaches along the way. One of the best and most exhilarating scenic cruises I’ve been on. Definitely a must when in Coromandel, will be back!
