Our afternoon trip departs the beach at 1:45pm and returns at 4:45pm.

Plan to sail around the beautiful coastline on Fully Charged and visit local iconic locations, setting anchor for half an hour at Cathedral Cove. Either relax on the boat, or have a swim or snorkel in the marine reserve with the amazing fish life.

Your trip includes a complementary chilled local beer or New Zealand wine along with some smoked local seafood.

Every trip is different. Help to sail or sit back on our comfy beanbags, soak up the scenery and relax.

Using wind power as opposed to engines and fuel allows us to take guests out with minimal impact on the environment.

This beach is lovely and a favourite of ours when in Whitianga. Good reasonable swimming in summer, quite popular with travellers and locals. We often stay at one end of the beach at a Freedom Camping site in our motorhome. Lovely spot.

Although it was raining and for the most part we just sat in the car and ate our lunch looking at what we could see of the view, we could see enough from that) and our brief walk during a drier spell) that it would be a great beach to spend some time. There's plenty of parking, including for overnight vehicles, what a great place!

Tuia 250 was a celebration of Cooks arrival in New Zealand and the Polynesian migration in Waka in the 13th century of Maori. A re-enactment of Cooks visit to Wharekao (Simpson’s Beach) which began with a Powhiri (Welcome) was held at the Marae at the far end of the beach. This is a very safe beach, great for walks, fishing or swimming. There is a large parking area at Kouatunu end of the beach for caravans and campervans. One of the most beautiful places to park. There are toilets approximately half way down the beach with car parking. Beautiful views of Mercury Bay.

Safe little bay for families with young children. Walk over river to the rocks. Fishing and easy for boats to launch.
