When we arrived it was just the four of us so we were lucky enough to have our own guided tour with Rob who was very informative. We didn’t realise these tunnels existed on the island so if you have a chance go check it...More

The battery is well preserved, and the info boards are helpful in explaining what you’re seeing and it’s significance. We rode bikes to the site; it asks you to park them at the bottom of the hill and walk up because the hill is so...More

It’s amazing what they built, with the equipment they had. Fasanating story about Australia’s defences. Tour was very knowledgeable, Murriell, she had been doing it for 18 years and still had passion about the place. If your a history/war person, take a look.

Catch the train and do the guided tour, or ride up the steepest hill on the island, this is worth the effort. The size of the gun and the ammunition is amazing (each projectile is 172kg). The views of the island from the gun platform...More

This tour takes a good hour or so to complete,so make sure you have the time , but it’s hugely informative and interesting. The volunteer guides are extremely knowledgeable. We had absolutely no knowledge of the importance of this area during the war, so good...More
