This is a small bay so if there are many tourists around it can get crowded. We spent some time swimming here. Water was cold but crystal clear.

The best part of the Little Parakeet Bay is when we ate our lunch. We were hungry and all of a sudden we had visitors. Two Cuookas showed up and beg for food. We could not give them anything as we could not offer food...More

This almost private, secluded small beach will match any small beach in any country. It is sheltered from the afternoon sea breezes, has crystal clear, aquamarine waters and is ideal for sharing a nice cold wbite wine for a sundowner.

The beach itself is just beautiful and secluded. The water was absolutely freezing but we got used to it as soon as we went under! It is small and there were only a handful of people which was great.

This is a beautiful bay and ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Be early though as it might get crowded especially during holidays..

We have always loved this swimming/ snorkelling spot. Get there early as it crowds up in summer holidays and there is not a lot of room. You can walk there from Geordie/ Longreach but a bike is best.

There are a few beaches closer to town so most people end up stopping at those ones... but just keep going until you make it to this one! Its a bit quieter. Perfect for relaxing or snorkeling!

Parakeet next door is spectacular, Little Parakeet is much smaller and cove like but is just a great spot for a swim. I always stop here, although don't expect to have it to yourself.
