This Villa is at the very best place in Anacapri and should not be missed. The history of how it came to be is fascinating. The views are astounding, and the gardens make you want to live here for the rest of your life!

It was a wonderful surprise to find this so uncrowded and unspoiled. Very worth the modest entrance for the beautiful gardens, paths overlooking the sea 1000 feet below, and a small but wonderful collection of Roman sculpture. The cafe has an equally stunning view, but...More

In Anacapri this is a must place to visit. The villa has an interesting history and there are panels in English and in Italian that are informative. Also, there is a short video about the life of Axel Munthe, the owner , who developed the...More

Very interesting place in Anacapri. Inforamtion about Axel Munthe are written in rooms and near the artefacts, but better is to know something about author. If you didn't read "The Story of San Michele", do it now. Views are wonderful even if you read nothing.

Located in Anacapri, San Michelle Villa is well worth a visit for the views alone. €8 admission. Be sure to continue to the top to see the sphinx and the glorious views.

The view and history were both incredible. The price tag if 8euro per person is a bit to high if you ask me.

The house, and especially the gardens are well worth a visit. The garden was peaceful, shady and relaxing. Not too many visitors which made it more enjoyable (Capri was extremely busy!). Good to see somewhere that wasn't solely based on tourism, more on show casing...More

You CAN walk back to capri center but better not to do it. I wouldn´t! Take a cab. It is just 18-20 euros and you certainly will not regret it (if you don´t mind the price), beacuse Capri taxis without roofs are so fun... More

Ditto! A very nice stroll to get there, a few steps in the house and in the garden but nothing worth noting. Don't miss it!
