A trip to this imposing glacier gives you a chance to walk on the ice wearing cleats and to see and hear a truly astounding spectacle: blocks of ice rupturing and floating away as icebergs.

There seems to be some confusion about how to get there. The bus ride is 800 peso round trip. Going from the bus stop at 9 am or 1 pm, leaving the park at 5 pm or 7 pm. Just for convenience we went with...More

They have built an excellent walkway to take you down to the face of the glacier. It feels like yyou can reach out and touch the 70 metre high ice face. We ate our box lunch at one of the many spots along the walkway...More

We did the boat and walkways. We have never been to a glacier where you can get close to it without having to use an ice ax or cramp ons. All the reviews are true. Well worth seeing.

Must visit in Patagonia. Impressive views and sounds of a glacier. Unfortunately very crowded but understandably so, because easily accessible.

A staggeringly beautiful glacier. See it by boat and from the Balconies. It is a sight you will never forget. Truly awesome.

We loved this park and it’s paved roads!! 700$AP cash only at the gate. Make sure you get gas in El Calafate or from wherever you’re driving. Not many to choose from. You can get quite close to the glacier on the network of boardwalks....More

Loved to visit the glacier. Ir was just awesome. It is a must for everyone visiting el calafate. The drive is about 1 hour. I would recommend to visit the glacier really early or late to avoid the crowds.

You can take a city bus from El Calafate straight there. Cheapest way. No guide. Check schedule. We drive ourselves there in our rented car. It was a great day!
