Tripadvisorā€™s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice gravel and grass campground located close to downtown Watkins Glen. Right across from a beach, park and adjacent to a marina/boat launch. 50 amp full hookup site. It rained our first day and our site drained quickly. Water pressure is high so make sure to use a limiter. Only 1 bar of ATT LTE. Nice people at checkin told us all there is to do in the area. Gravel pads are a little small for a big rig.

At least half the park is occupied by seasonal campers. We were in a pull thru spot that was plenty long enough for the truck and camper. The sites are close together and there are very few trees. The cable and wi-fi worked well.

We stayed 3 nights at this campground. Each day was very nice. We had a pull thru site which was very level. The site was a combination of stone and gravel. Hookups were in great shape. Many channels available on the CATV. We didnā€™t use the WiFi, however the ATT signal was super strong. The ladies in the office were amazing. They offered great suggestions for enjoying the area. One of them escorted us to our site to make sure everything was in order. Thereā€™s a Walmart Super Center just across the bridge. A very easy walk. It rained one night, then the next day there was a big storm that lasted several hours. When it was over, you couldnā€™t tell if it had rained, because the drainage was very good. Very few puddles. We walked to the downtown area to eat and shop. Maybe 20 minutes each way. This is a government owned campground, but they keep it VERY well kept. We will definitely stay here on our return trips to the Glen. We camped in a 24ā€™ Class C. Everyone that worked there made sure the place was taken care of. The park across the street is a nice place to watch the sun setting across the lake.

Water access, restrooms, and a splash park make this a great place to stay or drop by for awhile. Parking costs money so make sure to have cash when you pull in. A good place for a picnic with a small playground there as well.

We enjoyed the campground because it was in walking distance to Watkin's Glen and even the the gorge. It had full hook ups unlike Watkin's Glen State Park. There was a friendly woman in the office and the bathrooms were clean. The bottom of Senaca Lake is right across the street and we had a nice view. But there are no amenities inside the campground. Not even trees or nice landscaping unfortunately.

We didnā€™t stay at the campground so cannot comment on that. We just visited the park and lake area. This lake front park on Seneca lake is a great place to bring kids. Free parking, picnic tables, restrooms, playground area, small beach with lake swimming (and lifeguards), and best of all a great splash pad for the kids to run around in. My son had a fantastic time!

Pretty central location. Was a short drive to Watkins Glen for the waterfalls. We did the 30 minute drive to Robert Thermaine (not sure spelling) National Park in Ithica, which was well worth it. Staff was very kind, organized and helpful. Bathrooms were clean & pretty central, so wasn't a problem at night. All the other campers were great. We were a group in 3 girls in our early twenties, we felt safe the entire time. Walmart was just around the corner if you forgot anything.

Well run and well maintained. It isnā€™t anything fancy but it is quiet and comfortable. The staff couldnā€™t be any more pleasant. It is at the tip of Seneca Lake so there are wineries, breweries, and distilleries for miles and miles in either direction. We stay here at least once a year.

The park ground and trees look poorly maintained. Clean portable rest rooms. Beach was closed. In desperate need of a landscape face lift.

They could do so much more to make this park more attractive to visitors and being at the end of the lake, it would make for a nice picnic area but it just looked run down and dumpy so we didn't even bother. Very disappointed in the whole little town of Watkins Glen considering the beautiful scenery they have available to them.
