This biking/ walking trail runs between Albany and Voorhesville. It is paved from Albany to Slingerlands, then becomes gravel from Slingerlands to Voorhesville. Beautiful scenery of the Normanskill Creek and Falls, wildflowers, butterflies, birds, and rock formations. Great workout! There is parking in Albany and...More

We are so fortunate that our towns have joined to create and maintain this rail trail. It is scenic, well taken care of, and easily accessible from several generous parking areas. It is great to be able to walk for miles without having to worry...More

Since my first review, a few things happened. The Delmar/Slingerlands section has been paved with asphalt, making it more accessible. And the gap in Slingerlands between the existing two sections has been eliminated. Apparently, the private landowner was squatting on the rail trail right of...More

A great low-impact hike/ride on flat terrain, giving you miles of pleasant travel which can take you all the way to downtown Albany.

fabulous place for the biker and walker to get away from the cars and enjoy some pear and quiet. Multiple access points make it easy to get on and off.

We hit this trail a couple times this summer and it's really nice for anyone on a mountain bike or hybrid. The section from Voorheesville to Delmar is unpaved but not real challenging and from Delmar to Albany it all freshly paved. Overall a great...More

This Bike trail is just right for family. The trail is beautiful and can be challenging. Along the trail, if you know the area, you can even stop for ice cream at either Stewart's or Tastee Freeze (just off the path). There is a beautiful...More

I hate to say this, because I think rail trails in general are a great idea, but I don't think this one is. Went with great expectations, but only did a few miles or so starting from the Voorheesville end. Endlessly straight and flat with...More

The trail has three segments, but the segment from Delmar to Albany was not open, so this review applies to the other two segments. The Slingerlands to Voorheesville segment is the nicest, as it runs through an area that is low density suburban to rural...More

This rail trail has only one problem: it's too short! There are plans to extend it; if it connects to the other major trails in the region, it will be a must-do experience.
