Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I ran to the entrance Yaddo gardens planning to meet a friend there. When I arrived there was a sign that said it was closed. I waited outside the gate until my friend arrived - the gate is on the edge of the highway. A man drove up on a golf cart berating me about trespassing. He suggested I stand on the highway. Keep in mind I was outside of the gate below a public stop light. Before his power trip was over my ride came to pick me up.
Other reviews also mention this man who clearly has some personal issues, but it was enough for me to not want to return or support this place.

finally had a nice sunny day! So, I wanted to show my fiancé where I held the service of my mother who had passed years ago, she loved gardening and roses and taking us kids there when we were young so it was the ideal location for her service(10 yrs ago) my fiancé is not from around the Saratoga area so he had never heard of yaddo gardens. To My surprise the gate was WIDE OPEN! Even passed someone leaving as we came in! So we went for it, we realized the trails to the pergola were snowed in so we had to go up and turn around and THEN we were driven off the road by an Absolutely ABSURD man who we assume is JUST a GROUNDSKEEPER in a Ford F150. We had no way of getting around this pyscho, He clearly has issues... He screamed, threatened us, flung the door of his truck open HITTING MY VEHICLE, swearing at us and honestly all we could say was we’re sorry we’ll leave, we didn’t know, you need to calm down..... and the man continued to scream at us as if we were teenage vandals!!!!! we’re in our 30 and 40s. we’re adults. Literally just wanted to show my fiancé a beautiful piece of saratoga and this is what we got!!!!!! Whatever committee is responsible for the yaddo needs to reconsider what kind of animals you have taking care of this property- its a shame so many people will miss out on this place because of the psycho “caring” for it!!! but as you’ll read other reviews, you’ll notice that that poor garden has fallen to HELL and looks awful and clearly NO ONE is taking care of it - if they can get past the grumpy little troll in the big mans truck!!! sooooo disappointing.

We pulled in to Yaddo Gardens and realized it was closed even though the gate was open. We turned around in the driveway, and a man got off his tractor and yelled in our face that we were trespassing. He was incredibly rude. We are in our mid 70's and searching for a place to visit in Saratoga. We will never go back there again.

while the garden without the story may not seem spectacular to the other reviewer, for history buffs and artists of various types and those who just enjoy a good love story, the epic of Yaddo and its gardens is simply fascinating, enduring and even heartbreaking at times. When viewed through the lens of the past owners, as well as the past and current artists-in-residence there, it is truly a fun, beautiful and educational experience. The "aura" of the place is simply astounding and will give you a nice break from your busy schedule. It's free, so go. Even my kids (8 yr, 5 yr and 3 yr) loved it and had fun running around in the splendor. Enjoy!

Beautiful gardens with a formal rose garden and a more free-form rock garden. Very peaceful. Well kept.

I am not sure how or why this would be number 6 on the list of things to do. It was very small and unimpressive. Kids kept saying where is it!!! The man they have driving around in the Ford F-150 is incredibly unbelievably rude. Seriously one of the rudest people we have met since we have been here. He clearly doesn’t want people visiting.

Well maintained rose gardens with multi-colored flowers. Roman style statues add a nice touch to the otherwise Adirondack setting. Great spot for a picnic.

If you have time to spare in Saratoga Springs this writers retreat is worth swinging into to see the fountain and rose gardens. It wont take long but has wonderful back drops for a photo shoot. Its a place to sit and reflect.

If you are there when the flowers are in bloom it's a pretty site. A lot of photographers take their models there to shoot and wedding shot are often done there. The main house is off limits because resident artists stay there... but the gardens can be gorgeous. If you are looking for something to do when the race track isn't running ... it's just down the road

Liked the tucked away feel of this beautiful place. The history of the family, house and property is remarkable and the gardens are Gorgeous! Wonderful examples of Italianate sculptures & fountains but the highlight is of course the rose garden. Just remember to be quietly respectful of the Artists that are in residence here, as it is actually a very small part of a very respected Artist Retreat.
