If you stop and buy a polar passport you can do a wine tour and break it up to a few day trips or even a few weekend trips. Very affordable and friendly trail. Dress for weather.... bring a picnic. Many even welcome dogs.

There is enough density that you can travel to several vineyards over the course of the day and even eat well doing it. Rich reds.

There is no topography like that of NYS finger lakes. Stunning views everywhere, live music, wine beer and spirits tasting. And plenty of fun. Chauffeur wine tours take all the trouble out of having fun!

My In-Laws live in this area so we visit it frequently. There is no shortage of beautiful countryside or enjoyable towns, wineries, B&Bs, attractions or restaurants. Worth your time and money.

The wines of the Finger lakes can be excellent and the views magnificent. Autumn is particularly nice because of the leaf colors.

I agree that the Strong Museum of Play is worth your trip north to Rochester. Check out the various hiking opportunities in the parks throughout the region - Watkins Glen is really beautiful, for example.
