Wanted to do the free guided nature walk but it was canceled due to rain. Paid the $15 admission to see the interior of the Falaise Museum which houses 16th-17th century antiques but no photography allowed, very disappointing. It was however a pleasant walk around...More

I’m lucky enough to live near this great preserve. A nice amount of trails, one leads to a beautiful shoreline, that are very do-able for kids and adults. They also have lots of programs during the year for all ages.

The Sands Point Preserve has become our second home. We live in Port Washington and we love spending time there. A team of naturalists and foragers are now offering fun and educational walks every second Sunday afternoon of the month. Pretty cool!

Step back in time to the Gold Coast Era. Imagine as you enter the property that you are attending a party. Areas of tall trees and lush undergrowth lead to an open field for parking. Behind you will be a huge castle-like building that was...More

You can take the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) from Penn Station to Port Washington, the last stop on the line. It's 10 minutes by car to Sand Point Preserve.

There’s no public bus service in this area but taxis from the train station wouldn’t be too expensive.
