Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here when it first opened and there was excitement, energy and optimism that’s associated with new business dreams, unfortunately that dream ,or passion , seems to have left the building.
The bartender simply looked at me and offered no suggestions or welcoming greeting-it was like I was doing her a favor. The beer seemed flat-not impressed and not the proper temperature.
The bathroom sink had a crack in it, molding was missing, pieces of the porch railing were gone and it didn’t seem very clean. The trim molding is actually lattice strips!
There was no energy in the room, everyone seemed to be sipping beer waiting for something to happen.
I’m 62 and was in business for years. I get the impression this place was opened by millennials, used the Adirondacks as a brand image ( they actually have one beer called “Stillwater lake”- it’s not a lake, it’s a reservoir , this fact is we’ll known to locals) and were delusional enough to think their beer was so great customer service was not needed.
Sad story. Not worth stopping based on my experience.

We stopped for a beer and hoped to get something to eat. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Beer was good -- but we thought the price would be a little more reasonable since we were at the source. The menu for food from next door was not what we were looking for. Regular Chicken Wings, Sandwiches and Burgers would have been more suited for this place.

We have wanted to try this place for awhile. We finally did but was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. We sat at the bar, seats were massive and heavy, not practical at all. Contrast this with a menu in tiny font, barely readable (who could think this is customer friendly). Draft beer selection was severely limited for an amber ale/lager fan (nothing even remotely close). Sampled three beers trying to make something work but had to settle for a glass of water. My wife ordered a hot dog. While a very good dog indeed, no dog is worth $7.00, particularly when served with nothing else, no pickle, no chips - nothing. We shortened our stay in order to minimize the frustration.

Fulton Chain Brew was always a regular stop during our yearly vacation in Old Forge. This year though there is a totally different vibe. We were a party of 6 and from being ignored standing at the bar for 10 minutes to waiting over an hour for mediocre food just left a bad taste. Place was not busy by any means. Bathroom had soap dispenser laying open on the sink, menu is way too small print and limited in choices. Beer was unimpressive. It’s as though the owners of a once thriving brewery just left town.

Didn’t love anything about this place except maybe one of the sweatshirts hanging up for sale. The beer was just okay. Sampled 2 IPAs. Was excited looking at the menu then very disappointed when food arrived. The brussels sprouts were swimming in a bowl of balsamic vinegar. I love roasted brussels sprouts and order them all the time. I will remain a fan of the local beer I’ve sampled at many of the area restaurants and bars like Saranac and Fiddelhead.

We stopped in on a hot day for a cold beer.
Unfortunately flights were not an option in these COVID times.
Enjoyed the Adventure Canoe session IPA.
We enjoyed our beer at the bar. On the weekday afternoon, there was plenty of room to spread out.

Let me start by saying our party of 4 make it a point to go to craft breweries wherever we find ourselves- we always love them! This is the first negative experience we have ever had at one.
We sat at the bar, which was almost empty this past Sunday afternoon, and were handed tap menus without a word. The 4 beers on the menu did not match the ones listed on the website- no IPA, etc.We wondered out loud if there were any other selections- we could see more taps, and again it was different from the website. I know the three bartenders just standing over at the side heard us, but ignored us. Of course two of them were on their phones the entire time we waited to get their attention before we left in disgust at being totally ignored.
We always enjoy the knowledge and enthusiasm that people who run these small microbreweries seem to have for their craft. These 3 guys couldn't even be bothered to take our order. Seriously, not a way to run a business.

Didn't expect to find a brewery in Old Forge, but this one is a diamond in the rough. Beers were great, had a very unique beer brewed with pine. Adirondack high top chairs were another unique aspect to Fulton Chain. Would definitely visit again!

I was at Fulton Chain Craft Brewery last fall for a work event and then saw them again at Brewfest at Utica Zoo. Here's the thing with this place, there are a lot of microbreweries popping up in the area, but there is definitely something different about this brewery. I know there are a bunch of options in Old Forge, places that have been around for years that people are used to,but you have got to try this place. Whether you own a camp and go several times a year or you're visiting for the first time,Fulton Chain is definitely a place to try.
They have a good variety of beers and are always trying new things. They brought a peanut butter and marshmallow (I think) beer to brewfest and it was good. I'm not a huge fan of dark beers, but I can absolutely appreciate the craftmanship.
Fulton Chain is a new establishment in a town that hasn't changed much over the years,so their #11 rank doesn't surprise me,but it should change. Don't let it's ranking sway you for stopping by and enjoying a beer, you won't regret it.

I can't believe I like this beer... I'm a coors light or Saranac kinda guy... very unusual I would like this beer. That being said, my father in law had 4 different IPA's and he said they were all fantastic !

Are you going to be open Nov 10th and 11th?

You might get a quicker response if you message the brewery via Facebook- I don't know if TripAdvisor notifies them that there is a question waiting! If they are open, definitely go- you'll be glad you did!
