About
The Town of Webb Historical Association is the home of the Goodsell Museum. We are located in a turn of the century house, which also has a barn and ice house to visit. The Museum have six room which display items showing the history of this area. Most of these exhibits change yearly. On the main floor we have an exhibit of technology as it came to the area. Another room is dedicated to taxidermy. Upstairs is a doctor's office, ca 1950's, a room telling the story of the previous owners, and two other rotating exhibits.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum is amazing. I have never seen a museum of this small size that has been so artfully curated. You could sense that there was love and respect for the Adirondacks in every exhibit, from the old logger's boots to the antique dentist's chair to the taxidermy table. I just feel feel bad that I have passed it so many times over the years and missed it! Yes, bring the kids.

This is a small museum, but rich in the history of Old Forge. The staff was very willing to discuss the displays and answer questions. My favorite part was the doctor's office from the 1940s/50s on the second floor. We had never heard of the Canadian Indian "invasion" of 1972, so that was a fascinating piece of history too. I don't think we were there for a whole hour, but it was a nice, small town museum, perfect for a rainy day.

This museum is free to enter and it has a nice display of some local history. We have visited it before and you always see something that you have missed before.

My friend and I enjoyed visiting this museum. There are two floors of exhibits. The woman working the front desk seemed to know a lot about local history and the exhibits. The price is right, too............FREE............but you will be inspired to leave a donation!

Because my family is from this area, we stopped by here to see what they had that was related to family. turned out there was a lot and the employees not only looked it all up for us, but made copies for us to keep. Wonderful place

We love this little museum, which celebrate local history, wildlife, and geology. Christie is the most amazing historian and all the volunteers are friendly and enthusiastic about sharing their love and knowledge of the area. There are plenty exhibits that are kid friendly and hands-on, and something of interest for everyone. You can spend 20 minutes, or several hours...don't forget to check the out buildings for additional artifacts including the town's previous portable jail cells.

This is a small museum, but it has a rich collection of historical artifacts. The museum's director is very knowledgeable about the artifacts, their history, and the history of the area. The exhibit on President Benjamin Harrison was fascinating. The exhibits do change frequently. This was well worth the visit. Admission is free but donations are accepted. Interesting information about the history of the area as well as the local wildlife. I highly recommend this museum for those who desire a lesson in history about the Old Forge and Webb region.

While small, the effort that the small staff puts into planning their displays shows. There are also binders full of added info that accompanies each exhibit in each room if you have time to spare. Would be a great rainy day activity! Old Forge does indeed have an interesting history!

Nothing like this exists unless you go to the Smithsonian or Natural History museum. We love to see the changed exhibit here when we go for our typical summer/fall visit. Always having an enthusiastic greeting from the director & quick download of what's instore for us helps a lot.
