A chairlift ride up the mountain rewards one with a fantastic view of the Adirondacks. The staff was helpful and friendly. At the top one can spend as much time as one wants enjoying the view. It was beautiful today and will be even better in a few weeks when more leaves have changed. That the price is so reasonable is an added bonus.

The fall scenic ski lift ride was breathtaking. We went right before the big storm that took down the majority of the leaves for the fall. The views were absolutely beautiful. The ride costs $6 for adults. They don’t have very many people working it so when it’s busy it kind of seemed hectic with the line. There were a lot of people not social distancing/ not wearing masks and there wasn’t people monitoring that because they were all too busy.

As always the view from the mountain is stunning. Unfortunately, we along with hundreds of other tourists, decided the Columbus Day weekend was the time to visit. If you're up for it and don't mind waiting over a half hour, along with the other tourists, it's well worth the wait

This place blew me away. They have an outstanding variety of terrain from bumps and trees to cruisers all packed into 633 vertical terrain. Friendly staff, patrol and the short lift lines for the win!

I was first introduced to the Adirondacks in 1954 and found it to be a place of enchantment and wonder. There were deer, bears, racoons, fish, lakes , mountains, and enchanted forest that added to the wonderment.
Many lifelong memories and Frends have developed in the mountains from the Hudson Family where we still spend a week each summer in eagle bay to the old trading post, Keith's diner, mary's gift shop, Scots inn, Bald and Rocky mountain and Margaret at Clarks beach motel. We discovered McCauley mountain many years ago to be a place of peace and serenity for we do not ski or sled but go there after the gates are closed in the evening and early in the morning. There we visit with Mother nature and her creatures who live there. Deer greet us as we walk in, bluebirds and many others fly by and if we are lucky we may see a mother bear and her family looking for a meal along with many other animal families who live there. The scenery is spectacular, in the spring there is still snow and ice on the mountain mixed with grey and faded green trees from the winter storms , the summer is full of life and briliant green surroundings and in the fall the brilliant colors offer a peaceful exit to a wonderful summer and coming winter The top of the mountain can be reached by foot or on the chair lift and offers a rewarding experience and magnificent view of the Fulton Chain of Lakes and Bald Mountain. See ya there in the Spring.

Took the scenic lift up to see the panoramic views at the top. Was not disappointed! $6 an adult and your drop off point has areas to walk around and look at the leaves. Very peaceful. Even have a picnic table for you if you brought a lunch or snack. Whole operation well ran and employees are friendly. Would def do again.

We took our grandkids up on the scenic chairlift recently. This is not a tremendously high mountain but it is well worth a visit. The views are great, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
There's a short trail you can take at the top (less than a mile loop) and there are picnic tables if you'd like to bring lunch up with you.
In the past we have seen deer on the trip but we didn't see any this time.
This is a nice thing to do on a beautiful day in the adirondacks - our grandkids really enjoyed the trip!

The chairlift ride is only $6 per person. It's a simple 10 minute ride to the top of the mountain where you will be treated to views of the Fulton Lakes and the high peaks. There are picnic tables and Adirondack Chairs for you to savor the view. You have the option to ride the chair lift or hike down the mountain.

If you are in Old Forge in the fall the chair ride is only $6 per person for an amazing view. Waiting in line is 100% worth it.

We usually hike when visiting the Adirondacks, but had limited time this trip. We decided the chair lift could be an option. We were not disappointed! It's so beautiful up at the top of McCauley Mt. There are a few places to wander and scenic vistas are stunning ! Definetly worth $6 a ticket !

In my opinion the best place to stay in the Old Forge area is Pine Knoll Lodge & Cabins. It is right on the lake and lees than 10 minute drive to McCauley Mountain. They have a variety of room choices including a few individual cabins. The owners are the nicest, most accommodating people you will ever meet. It's by far my first choice when visiting Old Forge.

We always camp when we are in the Old Forge area but I would check options in Inlet as there are several motels that are cabin like in that area.
