The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport is Long Island's only year-round professional theater, casting its actors directly from the Broadway talent pool. Featuring stadium-style seating, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, and The Green Room...more
If there is one thing you need to do over the next two weeks, it’s to go to the John Engeman Theater and see Newsies! The cast is superb! Every number is catchy, the choreography is fantastic, and it’s a great story from beginning to...More
The actors are professional, most broadway quality. The seats are comfy and spacious compared to NYC theaters. The sound system is perfect all the way to the back of the theater. There are all kinds of restaurants within walking distance.
This place is the best!
We saw “Newsies” which was excellent. The theater is very comfortable and well maintained. Lots of pleasant helpful staff. The bar opens an hour before showtimes and they really push the drinks both at the bar and with waiter service in your seat at intermission....More

Car rental is best. Otherwise you would have to take the air tram to the Jamaica Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station, then the Port Jefferson line of the LIRR to the Northport train station and then take a cab to the theatre. The return trip would be the same. It is very time consuming and very cumbersome.
At the theatre, there is plenty of on and off street parking as well as theatre-provided valet service.
