Overview
More
Museum Village is a living history museum preserving a vast collection of eclectic, 19th century artifacts for educational purposes. Using these artifacts and reproductions, we provide hands-on experiences and exhibits illustrating the transition from a rural to an industrial culture and economy in America, provoking thought and discussion about history. Exhibits include blacksmith shop, weaving, farm life, candle shop, firehouse, school house, log cabin, energy and the environment and a complete mastodon skeleton (only 1 of 3 in the entire world!). Special events include a Gem & Mineral Show, Summer Tours, Ghost Tours, a Civil War re-enactment (Labor Day Weekend), No Scare Halloween, Thanksgiving Tasting & Christmas In The Village. Never went here before the chocolate expo! We enjoyed that then went around to each of the little houses on the property and we learned a bunch of stuff about the olden days! It is so cool! I would return.

A Serene place that brings you back to gentler time. Alot to see .No current electrical equipment just thing such as a butter churn. Quite an education for our children now. They saw what it was like to not have instant gratification

A staple of Orange County and the Mid-Hudson Museum Village takes you back to the 19th century. Historical buildings, craftsman, and reenactors provide a wonderful learning experience to see how life was before electricity.
