We started our tour of wineries in the Hudson Valley with Stoutridge Vineyard and Distillery. The wine tasting ($8 for 6 one ounce pours) was extremely disappointing. While the owner and wine maker goes on and on about his totally natural wine produced without the...More

We went as part of a wine tour with a large group. They have a very different technique for making wine. The owner did a very thorough and interesting presentation while doing tasting. I admire their approach of keeping it very natural. Their wines have...More

I'm trying to visit all of the wineries in the HV, so my friend and I visited Stoutridge this weekend. We walked in right behind a big group, who all had the Shawangunk passports. Since we didn't have the passports, we walked over to where...More

This was our last stop of the day. Was a bit reluctant given some of the reviews, but honestly so glad we came! David was super nice and informative. When we arrived, he was just finishing up a tasting with another couple, but quickly came...More

Out for the long Columbus Day weekend recently, my husband and I visited Stoutridge for a tasting. The picturesque grounds and exterior of the main building stirred anticipation of further sensory delight in the tasting room. Wrong. Instead, my senses experienced disappointment after disappointment: my...More

Stoutridge touts themselves as the only vineyard on the East Coast and one of the few in the country that produces completely unprocessed wines. That fact makes these wines much different than most people are probably used to since we are conditioned to drinking wines...More

The wine has no preservatives and the process uses zero electricity prior to the bottled, finished product being loaded into an electric elevator. It's a fascinating place and the owner explains it all in a way that's both fun and informative.

I did a wine tasting here and really didn't like any of the wines. The unique feature about these wines is that they are unprocessed and unfiltered, in theory making the wines taste "like they are supposed to taste". Alternatively, the wine making has ignored...More
