As a long-time patron of this theater, I'm finally taking the opportunity to say a few words about it. Yes, it's "old". 100 years old this year (2018) to be exact. There in lies much of the charm. Just think - perhaps your great-grandparents going...More

The Manlius Art Cinema is one of those places that you would believe is long gone. A 200 or so seat, single screen tunnel type theater showing art house films, documentaries, and classics in a way that harkens back to the beginning of the 1900's....More

Overall a very small theater which can be nice to see a movie. The seats and the theater are very old and slightly uncomfortable. Still staff are very friendly and it can make for an offbeat fun evening, though the movies shown are usually very...More

The Manlius Cinema is very old, but it has the best films in the area. You can see productions from the National Theater in London for $15!! The regular movies are art films and independent productions, all of very high quality.

Onondaga Historical presented an original film on the history of Onondaga Lake at this theater this past Sunday-something we were most interested in seeing. This tiny place was a throw-back to the old neighborhood theaters of my youth. Judging by the condition of the place-nothings...More

The fact that the proprietor introduces each film to the assembled audience says a lot about the personal touch not found anywhere else. In addition, his discriminating taste in booking movies can be trusted--the films are unfailingly high quality and thought-provoking. This 99-year-old venue isn't...More

I often go to the Manlius Art Cinema. Movies shown there are consistently "interesting, artful, and often not shown at other local venues." Before each showing the owner gives a brief overview/commentary of the film. He's obviously passionate and informed about cinema. Physically, the theater...More

Great movies, priced right, snacks and safe. They bring in all the great movies and wonderful foreign movies! If you find the seats uncomfortable bring a pillow. It is so worth going to the Manlius Cinema and there are great restaurants all around there! Get...More

This theater is old and small. The seats are lumpy, musty, and need a paint job. The toilets are freezing cold. BUT I enjoy going there because the films are great and I've never seen one I didn't like, even though I was unfamiliar with...More

A nice little cinema for artsy films not seen in the larger venues, lets call it a rustic setting. I think the seats are original, sound system not state of the art - all part of the charm
