Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an iconic sign of the Pepsi Cola logo that faces Midtown Manhattan in Hunters Point South Park, Long Island City, Queens. As part of the deal to develop the land as residential, the developers had to agree to keep the sign in place forever. The site was once the location for the local Pepsi Cola Bottling plant. Not worth a visit by itself, but if you are already in the park, please check it out.

I used to live directly behind this Pepsi Sign so I visited this park almost every day. There is a lot of history around this sign and in fact the whole area of Gantry State park as it used to be an undustrial dockyard and manufacturing place which also included the long island rail road. It is well worth a visit if you are in LIC or even Manhattan as it is only one subway stop from Grand Central station to Vernon Boulevard on the 7 line.

Illuminated at night, it casts quite a red glow. Great spot for lounging and picnics. Near the Long Island City ferry stop.

This is the famous sign along the river. It's been here a long time and we have seen it before. This time we saw it on our way to the airport. The area around it is now full of skyscrapers as the city keeps growing.

This is a nice place to kill time and see Manhattan from another angle, sort of outside looking in. It is quiet-is and peaceful especially at night.

I worked here in Long Island City when Pepsi ran the plant the sign stood atop. When the condo's started to be built I am glad a piece of history was saved. You can stand under the sign and get your picture even if you are not the choice of the new generation (I like Coke products) and there is a great view of the city. New York State's Gantry Park is a great city park for views of Manhattan and the United Nations (minus all the US Coast Guard ships in the East River protecting the general assembly late September).

You can also take NYC Ferry right to the sign, take it after sunset for for some great night shots of Manhattan skyline as well.

I've lived in NYC for a long time but I've only recently seen the Pepsi sign up close. I don't know if it's something people really need to come out of the way for but it's a nice stroll if you're coming from PS1. And the new LIC waterfront is really really nice so combined activities make it a nice stop along the way.

Okay lets not go over the top. The sign has been there for what seems like forever and for those who sit in the morning/afternoon commute you see this sign more then you ever thought imaginable. However, it is still an iconic sign

Huge sign located in Gantry park, it enlights all the area around with red colours. Unfortunately during my visit some lights were not working but the sign Pepsi was still impressive!

Situated in Long Island City, this newly designated historical landmark is truly unique. It can be viewed from Manhattan, but it is best seen in LIC. It is behind an apartment building on Center Blvd, but readily accessible by walking through NYS Gantry Park. It is most impressive at night when the red neon lights shine brilliantly.
