Perhaps the Pepsi sign is a landmark for those in Manhattan that can see it across the East River. However, there is nothing special about seeing it up close in Long Island City.

It has become a tourist attraction. In the night the view is incredible. You can take a cruise on the river from here.

The Pepsi Cola sign is a landmark in Queens. When I’m riding the Long Island rail road and see it I know I’m almost in Manhattan.

Okay lets not go over the top. The sign has been there for what seems like forever and for those who sit in the morning/afternoon commute you see this sign more then you ever thought imaginable. However, it is still an iconic sign

OK. So it is not going to change the world, but this sign is legendary and marks the area where the Pepsi bottling plant used to be. Great viewed from the East River or close up.

This was one of those Sunday afternoon walks to the East River. The sign is probably better when lit up at night, though. Once you've taken photos of the sign, turn 180 degrees and the panoramic view of the buildings in front is quite magical.

This is an iconic sign. Looking at it from Manhattan is cool. I believe there was a bottling plant there back in the day. There was also a Pepsi bottling plant in East New York Brooklyn too.

The Pepsi sign is as iconic a site in Queens as the Unisphere by the World's Fair. Taking a photo by the sign makes for a great keepsake.
