Frisky Otter Tours offers Kayak, Canoe and SUP rentals, instruction, guided tours and sales of boats, boards and accessories at our Inlet, NY shop in the beautiful Adirondack Park. We can also provide delivery or shuttle service of either your boats (people and gear too!) or ours for those traveling the Park's waterways. We strive for the utmost in service to help make your experience on the water the most enjoyable, safe, and memorable one possible. Paddling tours are offered from our site at the Woods Inn on Fourth Lake, as well as on many other pristine waterways, ranging from 3 - 4 hours up to full day tours at more remote locations. We work with you and your group to best suit your unique needs, desires and abilities. We are very proud to sell Placid Boatworks, Eddyline, Old Town, Lincoln, Adirondack Guideboat, and Pau Hana SUP's and offer free demos for those looking to purchase a boat. We all sell Werner and Aquabound paddles, Stohlquist PFD's, and Yakima roof rack products.

I went to the Adirondacks for kayaking lessons. The proprietor of Friskey Otter, Connie Perry, is a terrific lady. She is an excellent teacher; I imagine that she is also an excellent guide. If you are looking for a first or new kayak, she will take the time to fit you into one that will work. I have the highest respect for her.

Great place to rent a kayak and paddle around 4th and 5th Lakes. The owner also will take you out on a guided tour. Prices are reasonable. There are also Stand Up Paddle boards for rent.

Friendly and accommodating! My family of 4 rented 2 tandem kayaks. Staff was great and we had a ton of fun on nice kayaks!

Hello I stayed at the inn attached to the rental location and had to wait an extremely long time because we didn't have a reservation even though workers were available to help us. We asked many times throughout our waiting period how much it would cost us to rent a paddle board and no one would give us an answer. Eventually they said it would cost about $40 per person to rent a paddle board so we decided not to participate.

Sorry you had to wait so long as I do not have any help at this time other than some friends who pop in to lend a hand as they can with moving boats, getting life jackets and paddles for customers, cleaning and sanitizing equipment as it returns. Meanwhile, the demand continues to be through the roof. We have asked customers to make reservations to help alleviate some of the waiting time and make the process easier for all. We believe that our $32 or $36 rental price for anything up to 4 hours for the first two categories of SUPS or solo kayaks is very reasonable as it includes life jackets and paddles. We have heard of far higher pricing in the area this summer for much lesser equipment.

Frisky Otter is a great place. I went there for an introductory canoe lesson with two other people. There was a good balance of lecture and hands on time in the water. Connie, our instructor, was kind patient and very knowledgeable. The staff was courteous and fun. I highly recommend Frisky Otter if your looking to learn or just rent.

I stopped by Frisky Otter Tours to see what was new in the Kayak world. I was looking for ideas on a replacement for my kayak that I currently have.
The owner, Connie, could not have been more personable and easy to work with. She allowed me to try out three different types of kayaks on the water. I wasn’t planning on buying a kayak at the time. Her easy-going styleAnd her pointers on how to make myself a better kayaker helped me make a decision to put a down payment On a kayak. Since the vehicle that I had was not suitable for transporting the 14 foot kayak that I purchased, I put a down payment on on it. I drove the 150 miles back home and returned the next day where I picked up the kayak and made the final purchase. Cannot say enough about this fine young lady and her company.

Connie could not be more invested in making sure you have a great experience: the equipment is in top shape, she wants to be absolutely sure that you are comfortable with it before you start out, and she can assist you with everything from what type or size of kayak is best suited to you ... down to where you can go for the day (or longer).
Connie carries just about every imaginable rack there is to fit just about any SUV or car out there and she sells accessories if you already have your own boats..
She knows what she is doing and can answer just about any question you can come up with... and if she does not know (rare) she will find out.

Connie Perry owner of Frisky Otter Tours is an asset to paddling and the area. She is a skilled instructor, trip leader and one of the best boat fitters around. Comfort is so important whether you are renting or buying. She fitted both my wife and myself with new kayaks - a Necky for my wife and an EddyLine for me. She was patient, listened to our criteria and seemed to be able to anticipate what would be feeling in the many kayaks we tried. Although the shop seems small, she has done an excellent job of having a great selection of good brands and equipment that paddlers need. We are also seasoned padding instructors so we appreciate a real professional and Connie is someone that we trust and always learn from. We make it a point to stop by whenever we are in the area to get updates on what is new as she has most likely tried it out.

Connie at Frisky Otter Tours is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We were in the market for some SUP(s) and she listened to our needs and was able to help us navigate through all the different options when making our purchase. She genuinely cared about what we bought and wanted to make sure that we got the right equipment to fit our family! Highly recommended.

Hi! We are a family of 5 traveling to Old Forge this summer and looking to rent kayaks for 1/2 day. Understanding the shuttle service is not currently operating due to Covid restrictions, can we still rent kayaks and paddle around Fourth Lake? Is there a point of entry on premises?

Hi, We are a family, couple and two teenagers who are interested in boating in Lake Lila Primitive Area. Do you cruise there? We will arrive in late September and early October. I do not have exact dates yet but we would love to get a quote for a family cruise with a guide.
