This was a "quaint" museum in a nice park. I loved the electronic paint board where my mother-in-law and I were able to "paint" and create our own artwork (which could be erased). This was the best part of the tour for me. Depending on...More

Thank you for such a nice review. We're so glad you enjoyed yourself! The digital action painter is a visitor favorite. We hope you'll come again soon. (New exhibits will be up on August 4th.

When I last went there is was surprised with a display of Lockhorns comic strips as paintings. The entire group of paintings were entertaining.

The attraction will speak for itself Located in Huntington it is small enough to be personal. Nearby you can walk around the Pond, and with a bit of energy even walk into the Main street of Town for a bite to eat. Allow about 20...More

Established by industrialist August Hecksher in the 1920s, it benefits from his eclectic collection that ranges from Old Masters to the 19th century; more recently...More

The Hecksher Museum of Art is more of a gallery than a full-blown museum. However, the artwork is of high quality and major museum worthy. Many of the selected artists are native Long Islanders, while some represent other parts of the country and even the...More

It's a small local museum, but the collection is varied and interesting and the rotating exhibits worth repeated visits. Set in a park with sculpture and a pond, it's more than it's small package would suggest. Free for the locals and with a moderate admission...More

We drop by occasionally as they always have something new to see. Nice setting. Easy to park. Not crowded. You're in and out in an hour.

This museum is set in a lovely park right in the middle of town - a people's museum, if you will. It's worth a visit, not too much to see at least on the day we were there.
