Did not attend the museum. We took a boat tour on The Pat II which is a boat tour the museum sponsors. The tour lasted one hour and ventures up one side of the lake and returns on the other. It does not go the whole length of the lake.

    Beautiful boats!
Hubby wanted to see this. I like boats but would rather just ride in them vs. studying the history. Was I pleasantly surprised! You’ll see beautifully restored wooden boats of all types and learn the history of boating. It was very interesting… and a nice break from our “Waterfall and Wine” vacation. Afterward, we rode on the Pat II on Keuka Lake. Highlight of the day! If you ride the boat first, you’ll get a discount rate for the museum. (Of course we did that backwards, but it was more enlightening to have seen the restoration work and man-hours needed to get the Pat II in working order.)

Great tour boat ride and wonderful museum.
We visited the Finger Lakes Boat Museum and took a ride on their wooden tour boat the Pat II. The Pat II is a one hour tour boat ride on Keuka Lake. We were lucky enough to have Captain Murray and his crew for the enjoyable scenic ride. Captain Murray pointed out various interesting aspects of the lake and it's history. The boat museum was as good as ever, better actually. Since the last time I was there they have opened a new building and also a new exhibit on the lower floor of the original building. If you are in the area be sure to go to the museum, even if you've been before because they are always in the process of adding new exhibits.

    Wonderful Cruise
The weather was perfect and so was the boat and crew. Captain Doug told so many interesting stories and history, really kept my family & friends informed and entertained for the entire 90 minute cruise. Keuka Lake is just so beautiful!

Peaceful and Informative Morning Tour with Pat 2 Tour Boat
We took a morning tour with Pat 2 Tour Boat and were impressed. The electric boat was quiet, making the experience peaceful and enjoyable. The captain shared lots of stories, blending history with current events. The views were stunning, making it a memorable ride. We recommend this tour!

We took the Pat II Keuka boat tour on the final excursion day of the season. While mostly overcast and misty, this was the perfect setting for a season ending, morning tour. The Captain & Mate were knowledgeable, personable, and most engaging. An excellent experience all around. The Finger Lakes Boat Museum can be most proud of this flagship craft and her crew.

Took the Pat 2 boat tour on a fine Saturday morning. The restoration of the craft was done to a very high standard of workmanship. we were greeted by the captain and boarded the vessel at the public dock in Hammondsport. The tour itself was wonderful as the captain went through the history of the vessel and the work required to restore and update it to the current configuration. He also talked about the the grape/wine industry and the changes over the last 100 years. The Pat 2 is a totally electric vessel and this eliminated the droning and fumes you could expect from a gas/diesel engine. We proceeded north approximately 3-4 miles before turning south and returning to the dock. Overall it was an interesting and informative ride on the lake.

It was a rainy and chilly day so we decided to visit this museum. I like boating, my wife is so-so, but we both enjoyed the museum. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Admission is reasonable. There's lots to look at in a couple buildings. They do a good job of presenting boating history and boating culture in the Finger Lakes region. They have an area and projects for the kids too.

I came across this museum through a quick Google search after having previously visited the Curtiss Museum back in the winter. I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem! The museum tells the story of boating on the Finger Lakes, including competition, trade, sportsmanship, and boat-building. Nearly all Finger Lakes boats were made out of fine finished woods, and were produced from the late 19th century through the 1970s. Most famous of these companies would be Penn Yan and Thompson. The admission was 8 dollars for adults, which isn’t too bad for a place like this. There are 3 floors of displays featuring boats from different times and with a wide variety of usages. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and a nice little museum store rounds out the visit. Great for families and couples or individuals alike! Please visit!

If you love old boats, you'll be in heaven. The museum is largely self-guided and you can get right up to the boats which is fantastic. During the summer thy have lots of events and don't miss the chance to ride on a restored boat on Keuka lake. We rode the Pat II, a restored 1920s mailboat, complete with solar panel technology for a clean ride. You can easily see the museum in 60-90 minutes.

I had no idea the wood boat industry
Was so vast around the finger lakes. On a waitress recommendation we caught this on the way out of town so we didn’t get to go on a boat ride but the restored boats were enough to make the trip worthwhile. The boats are beautiful, the exhibits and space are creative, and the workshop is fascinating. I’d love to go back for a workshop!

It was a glorious day for a boat ride on the Pat II. The vintage boat is roomy and comfortable and the windows large for a 360° view. The Captain was kind a courteous and provided us with interesting information about the lake. The enjoyment of the ride far exceeded the cost.

Each of the boats on display were beautifully crafted. The murals throughout set the stage for them. We were lucky enough to be there the day the 2nd building opened. Little difficult navigating other floors, signage would help.

I am not really into boating, but I LOVED this museum. Beautiful boats that have been restored or donated to the museum. It is in an old winery and the set up and art work on the walls around the displays is fabulous. The volunteers working on the boats are so very informative and helpful. You can walk right thru where they are restoring the boats, ask questions, and admire the fine craftsmanship. I HIGHLY recommend this stop when you are in the area.
