You're right around the corner a short 'flight' to the Boat Museum, and its worth the diversion! Excellent era-based dioramas as backdrops to fabulous wooden skiffs, dories and small hand-crafted boats. Nested in an old winery; the old wine cellar casks would make for a...More

The museum is housed in a historical winery location with rich wood and fine workmanship everywhere. Craftsmanship and range of exhibits is incredible. It's well on it's way to becoming a noted national-quality organization, rich with Finger Lakes history. You can spend hours there!

This is a growing museum, they a great space with a lot of history. They have several classes to offer, boat building, they have several boats they are rebuilding. It is great to see how boats were built from the late 1800s.

This museum is staffed by people who mostly volunteer and want you to love it as much as they do. The workshop is amazing. An introductory film gives a beautiful history of boating in the area. One wishes one could buy the restored boats that...More

My husband is a wooden boat fan and we found his favorite the Penn Yan at a new museum just outside of Hammonsport, NY. Old Penn Yans were plentiful. The museum was under development and we are sure to return.
