The trip with Oberve Wildlife was better than I could have imagined. We saw all of the numerous animals and birds that Hwange had to offer. Kaz Dube is an incredibly knowledgeable naturalist and a creative and fun teacher. He knows the park, its animals and plants, inside and out. He clearly loves what he does and he shares this love spontaneously. He combines a sincere respect for nature (he doesn't crowd or intimidate the animals) with an uncanny ability to position his vehicle in such a way that it captures the best light for photos and videos. He also is extremely safety conscious. The accommodations at the camp are simultaneously rustic (tents are in an acacia forest frequented at all times of the day by elephants, lions, and hyena) and comfortable - with all the amenities western visitors want to see. The tents are spacious and equipped with private toilets and bucket showers (filled with hot water each day when we returned to camp). The staff at the camp was engaging, endearing, and always helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Each day with Observe Wildlife was filled with "once in a lifetime" moments.

Our intergenerational group of 9 family and friends (ranging in age from 18 to 70) are just coming off a 6 day safari with Observe Wildlife and cannot say enough good things about the experience. Many companies will put you in proximity to animals, but being in the bush with Kaz Dube is at another level. Observe Wildlife is his personal guiding company that he has deliberately kept small to give the guests a personalized adventure. He is an extraordinary guide and host, but more importantly he is a naturalist whose deep knowledge and respect for wildlife and the bush elevated our experience every time out. We also loved being in his tent camp where elephants wander through almost every afternoon. His staff are wonderful and took care of our every need. The food was delicious and they accommodated our mixed-diet group beautifully. Great touches like warm facecloths when coming in off safari, tea and drinks by the fire, and hand-wash laundry service are really nice.
Our journey started with an optional trip to his home village to meet a group of children (who sang and danced) from the local school and the village elders. Wow! Everyone was incredibly gracious, and it was totally unforgettable. Then it was off to Kaz’s Observe Wildlife camp in the heart of Hwange National park. The camp is located just 700 meters from one of the busiest watering holes in the park and we saw animals there pretty much every day, particularly at sunset. On our daily tours, some of which were in vehicles and some on foot, we saw a huge variety of wildlife including the usual suspects - lions, giraffe, zebra, hippo, elephant, and antelope plus a wide variety of birds and other wildlife, including a rare sighting of 3 cheetah! The sheer variety is breathtaking and Kaz’ intimate knowledge of wildlife behaviors and life cycles, interconnections, mating and hunting patterns made for a much richer experience than we have had with any other guide - ever! Can’t recommend Observe Wildlife highly enough. The experience with Kaz and his team was the highlight of our 2-weeks in Zimbabwe!

We had the privilege to spend a few days with Mr. Kaz Dube - a legendary Zimbabwean Guide - at his bush camp in the southern section of Hwange National Park. It was our best safari experience to date with excellent guiding, bush camp stay, dining, everything. Kaz is a treasure trove of information and specializes in getting clients to learn and observe wildlife, and that is the only focus here. It helps he has a great bush camp with amazing staff (his wife and kids were alsp at camp when we visited) and it is a family atmosphere. Skip the foreign owned bush camps specializing in high tea and wine cellars and book with Kaz instead for the real deal. Can't recommend highly enough, book without hesitation. We will be back again.

I recently completed my fifth trip to subsaharan Africa where I have visited ten countries and had many guides. Without a doubt my experience last week with Observe Wildlife was the best of all these previous experiences. The camp is in the southeastern part of immense Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, is limited to eight guests, and has comfortable en suite tents set spaciously apart. Attention was paid to all details, flush toilets, warm showers, charging stations, good food, wine and cocktails, etc. But the real reason to go there is the owner and guide, Kaz Dube. I have never met a guide with such a wealth of information at his finger tips (tip of his tongue actually). When animals are sighted he stops the car, tells you all he knows of their habits and habitats and then just sits back and watches, enjoying the scene as much or more than you . . . he clearly LOVES what he does. As an added bonus from time to time he will take you on a walk to approach animals (commonly elephants) or just to go through the bush to see what can be found. He is very well-trained and VERY careful. And he is a great guy to just sit with and converse around the dinner table or the fire pit. I can't recommend Observe Africa highly enough as a part of any trip to Southern Africa.

We spent six nights with Kaz at his Kennedy Safari Camp. The game watching was phenomenal and Kaz’s wealth of knowledge and his passion for sharing that knowledge contributed greatly to our experiences. His staff made us feel welcome and the food was fabulous. The accommodations were comfortable and we even had an elephant parade traipse by our tent one afternoon!

Kaz Dube's camp close to Kennedy block 2 in Hwange National Park, is really a hidden gem. Shaded by Teak and Acacia trees, this camp offers all the comfort you could need and great food in a peaceful, undisturbed location in the heart of the park.
Seated on a deck chair just outside your tent you could observe wild life such as Elephants, Giraffe, Zebra and Buffalo (just to name a few), passing by and sleep to the thrilling sounds of the African night.
Kaz a very experienced guide himself, is also the owner/operator of this camp. He is a wealth of knowledge of trees, birds and wildlife of the area and whether you are on a walking or driving safari, will emphasise the importance of "observing" wildlife to truly understand their habits, behaviours etc. I personally learnt a lot from him whilst being treated to some wonderful sightings.
Kaz and his team makes sure you are well looked after, with an eye for those little things that help make your stay extra special.
This camp is a must whilst in Hwange and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to my next stay already!!

This is a walking safari. Don’t be put off by the word walking. I am 72 with a new hip and Kaz was wonderful. His licence to take walking groups means that you can get out of the truck and get close to the animals. Many operators can’t do that.
We saw so many elephants, zebra, impala, monkeys, hippos, warthogs..you name it, we saw it. Best of all was the sight of an angry young elephant chasing 4 cheetahs.
Kaz is exceptional. Not only is the breadth of his knowledge amazing (animals, history, politics and more) but he makes it fun. Quizzes as you walk. What do squirrels, lions and zebras have in common? You’d never guess...go and find out!
The camp was really comfortable and a group is limited to 8 people which makes the experience really intimate.
Kaz is an awesome guide. I felt safe, stimulated and excited. He didn’t win an award as the best guide in Zimbabwe for no reason.
I truly recommend this holiday. Try it, you’ll love it.

Kaz and his team (thank you Innocent, Chef and Elvis!) made our experience in Hwange Park a memory that will last a lifetime. My friends, along with Craig Van Zyl, visited in late July. Kaz took us to a spring that few ever see and we encountered so many elephants, giraffes and water buffalo during our stay! Even got lucky to spot a leopard. The accommodations are more luxurious, then rustic. And it's always the little things that make it special - warm facecloths after a dusty walk, hot water bottles for the chilly nights and attentive staff. Delicious food, excellent conversations around the fire and amazing walks through the Bush. Thank You!!

Had an amazing trip with Kaz and the team. It was incredible getting up close to so many animals I only see on Attenborough shows and Kaz's knowledge of all of them is outstanding. The tents are spotless and very comfortable. I cant reccommend this experience enough.

Undoubtedly one of the best guides in Zimbabwe, possibly the continent. Every outing was an adventure, a quest to find or learn something new about the African bush. Kaz has a remarkable understanding of the land and the creatures who live there. Whether gazing at an elephant, or crouching down to admire a beetle, I learned about the intricacies of this complex ecosystem, and how to preserve it. I highly recommend a safari with Kaz.
