Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been coming here to experience the adirondacks on horseback every fall season for the past 12 years. I look forward to ' re-connecting' with the horse as I used to ride my own horses as a child on the family farm. I highly recommend adirondack saddle tours for intermediate to more advanced trail riders. I do however suggest beginners take horseback riding lessons lessons before coming here ( or any trail ride ) to build their knowledge and confidence. There would be less negative comments and your trail ride a more exhilarating and memorable experience.

The staff was friendly, timely and helpful with questions and tips! Quaint area with breath taking scenery, perfect for a family or mother-daughter time like my trip. The horses were all very well behaved and knew exactly what was being asked of them. We took the three and a half hour experience and it was the perfect amount. Half way through we stopped to give ourselves and the horses a break, which gave us the chance to take in the scenery and get to know our guides. Tons of fun and we agreed it would be a yearly trip!

Went on an hour trail ride. It was great. The trail was beautiful, the horses knew just what to do and was very sweet. The trail guide (Kathy) did a great job of explaining what to do and keeping a comfortable pace for our level of riding (beginner). Great experience and I am looking forward to going again.

We booked a 5 1/2 ride back in June for Labor day weekend. The person I spoke to said I had to send a $200 cash deposit which I thought was sketchy. I emailed him numerous times for a confirmation with no response. My husband finally was able to speak to him and he said to bring waters and snacks. We arrived at 1030 for our 11 am ride. The staff knew nothing about our reservation and were very rude. We were made to feel like a bother. They asked us to come back in an hour. When we got back they still were giving us the run around with attitude. 2 other couples arrived with 3 1/2 hour rides booked. After a lot of back and forth they offered all of us a 2 hour ride. The ride was fun but the trails were very rocky and steep. As a life long rider and horse owner the horses were very tired.... not given a break between rides. I feel the staff does not care about the horses or their health. Plus they are VERY RUDE.

Been riding here for literally nearly 20 years. John has really sweet horses who are well cared for, healthy and good for nearly any rider. When the stress of life hits, the back of a horse on a beautiful ride is my favorite place to sort out and reset. Today was so beautiful, Tori is a wonderful guide, and as always I can't wait to return!!! I've been out on several rides with Bree, Mark and Dean and each time they couldn't have been nicer. The ride was calm and the trails were well kept. The horses looked great and were easy to feel comfortable with each time!!

I have not been there in a few years because, when I found out how misused their horses were, I stopped going. They put up a fair front, yet it's shameful behind the scenes.

Really enjoyed my ride to Moss Lake - my guide was really nice - my horse Comet was a great partner - we were able to do a bit of trotting and loping along the way and then had a chance to "splash" a bit once we arrived at the lake. It was a three-hour ride and the scenery was beautiful! Don't forget to bring some carrots for your horse!!

Having been all over the country riding horses, I was very disappointed with the lack of organization. Many families that prepaid and booked in advance were turned away that morning. We actually ended up waiting 11/2 hrs due to all the confusion. I was very concerned that they chose a horse that had an aggressive temperament for one of the riders that had no riding experience. The stables and outside surroundings did not matchup to the website pics.

a little rough around the edges and the guide had to yell a couple times to keep one horse apart at all times (millenials beware: your feelings WILL get hurt) but we had a grand trail ride, the horses were horses and acted like horses, doing their horse things, and nobody got hurt! this is old-school ADK, not disneyland... we LOVED it.
