If you are in the Capital District NY Albany/Schenectady/Troy/Saratoga area, do not miss the Cohoes Falls. For eons the only good view was a hidden street with no parking. About 8 years ago, a Canadian Company built the viewing park. You do have to park...More

Even after being a resident of the Capital area for more than a decade, like most people I know, I had not seen the Cohoes Falls. Per chance, I happen to be driving by and decided to take a peek. And it was stunning. Though...More

Definitely have to make it back here sometime when the actual park is open as it seems the hours are limited. What a beautiful site at sunset!

Powerful waterfall next to adjacent power plant. Sound of waterfall surprisingly loud. Take the turn on School Street to the small park for an unobstructed view of the falls.

We went in January when it was randomly 50 degrees. It was very powerful and even though the park was closed there was a great view from the street. Parking was only available on the street, but there were plenty of spaces.

Really cool place. Like a smaller version of Niagara falls! There is a walk path were you can sit and watch and listen to the falls, during rainstorm the rush of the water is awesome to watch.
