    Beautiful Respite
The New York Botanical Garden is a stunning respite in the midst of a chaotic city. The membership is well worth it as you can not only go there any day, but it's tax deductible. The well-kept grounds are beautiful and accessible for a short walk, a day of exploring, or a hike on the trails. As a member, you can sit and read a book in a quiet corner outdoors on a beautiful day, or enjoy the garden's offerings of seasonal flowers. I encourage every local, from the boroughs or beyond, to join the NYBG for their own peace and joy!

    Worth the trip
The garden and buildings are lit up beautifully for Christmas. The train show is spectacular, an ode to everything great in New York. Definitely worth the trip. Food and drink available for a price and there is plenty of parking on southern boulevard right in front.

An Oasis in the heart of the Bronx
Visited the NYBG for the annual orchid show. Simply beautiful. The grounds are a show themselves with the cherry blossoms and tulips blooming. I want to visit again in the fall to enjoy the colors of the many different trees.

I didn't think I'd be that bothered about botanical gardens as I'm not majorly into plants, but I went to the orchid show and was blown away by how amazing everything looked. It was so peaceful in the gardens too. I ended up buying a yearly pass, but my pass didn't come in time to one of the free tickets to take my friend to the gardens, so I reached out to membership support and a great guy called Matthew sent me tickets until mine pass arrives, he was so nice. If you don't care about plants, go, you'll still love it. If you do care about plants, you'll be in heaven.

We visited the garden in March, the flowering of the cherry trees, the magnolia trees, the
tulips and Daffodils was amazing
If you would like to relax a little bit from the intensive city, its one of the best option

If you’re an orchid fan, the entire conservatory has orchids throughout, you can spend hours, it’s magical. Consider taking the tram ride around the park when you first arrive, it’s a great way to plan out your visit. We were pleasantly surprised with the amazing sandwiches in the cafe, and lovely staff who made us feel quite welcome.

We were there for the Holiday Train Show and it was such an interesting and beautiful experience!
I am very happy we chose to add it to our trip adventures!
I certainly would go again if I am every in the area!

We paid extra for Glow and gave NYBG a prime evening slot in order to see the lights. I was so disappointed, there were only a few random displays spread out. Glow is not worth it at all. On the other hand the trains were delightful, but they are open all day and cost less. No need to go after dark for Glow, nor to pay for it.

We've seen better lights in a town of 15,000, and visited Atlanta's Botanical Garden last year for a magical holiday light show.  Not sure what is up with NYBG but Glow was a huge bust for us.

Positives: the model train displays are fantastic. Very photo-worthy! Lots of detail in the displays.
Biggest negative: when you buy your ticket online and download it, to my knowledge, NOWHERE on it does it tell you that must go to a ticket kiosk and show them the barcode to get a PAPER ticket…paper! So after trekking to the beginning of the entry line, we find this fact out (paper ticket needed) and practically had to run to the kiosk. Two workers—neither really knew how to do this! That’s why they are there! Finally, a manager was located and she showed the undertrained workers how to do their job.
Other negative: how is such a beautiful jewel of a park/garden NOT decorated, even a little, for the season? Disappointed in that.

Total bust, very few lights on display, we were very disappointed. Not worth travelling to the Bronx to see the "glow".
