Nice place to hike and experience nature. The government as usual charges too much for parking but if you buy an annual pass, you can use it at other parks.

The old Sportsman's Club located on the preserve is a private hunting lodge frequented by the rich and famous in the mid to late 1800's. Guided tours are on the first Sunday of each month and visitors will be treated to stories about the many...More

Came here for a good, albeit chilly 2 hour trail walk on a cold, November day with one of my out-of town sisters, The leaves had a good bit of color on them still, the trails are well-maintained, but very poorly marked. Nearly everyone we...More

The kid's love doesn't hiking here. Walked along trails to the fish hatchery. Felt like we had the park to ourselves!

This is a somewhat undeveloped spot that is worth a visit. There are guided walks and tours offered regularly. Consider a moonlit walk when it is offered.

I am a serious hiker. I really enjoy the Greenbelt trail and many of the other trails on Long Island. I very much enjoy walking through Connetquot State Park but there are two things to watch out for. Ticks and the dreaded time of 4pm...More

This is a beautiful preserve. It is very rustic so don't expect the manicured grounds of the arboretum. There are trails of various lengths you can hike and you may even catch sight of a deer. It is a shame that the former lodge wasn't...More

Lovely rustic place to visit if you enjoy hiking. It is sad, however, to see the buildings in such bad shape. I urge the state to give this park the much needed funds to make repairs.

The only charge is the parking fee, and for some reason, the Green Pass does not apply here as best as I can remember. You'll pay for a mansion tour though, but both fees were easily affordable the last time I was there.

Hi Lori G. I read that dogs are allowed in the park's beach areas as long as they are on a leash, but not in the buildings, on walkways, or picnic areas. Not much "real estate" there after those conditions! Enjoy, if you can!
