Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a mighty cool place, even if you are not a fiber-person. There is a huge range of colors and types of yarn- from the thinnest to the most funky fat skiens ever! Seriously- everything you want for your fiber art is here: roving, colored roving for felting, all sorts of yarn (did I mention the yarn?), materials for natural dying, tools great and small...the list goes on. There is a huge studio in the back for classes or drop-in weaving (ask in advance, I think). Plus they seem to be an active force in the community and welcome all willing to learn. There is a beatiful mural on the side of the building (but don't park in that lot! Park on the street)

My children did a walk in and weave session. It was very interesting to them, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We will be going back.

This store is more then just a store to purchase fibers to create the styles a person dreams of but a place where any person, who is interested in learning about the process of the fiber itself or the craft of creation of the fibers, can learn how to create with a number of classes. A great stop while in the heart of the Espanola Valley, in the historic plaza area. Don't forget to get a photo of the amazing mural on the east side of the building.

EVFAC staff went out of their way to accommodate our group! They not only provided wonderful instructors for Navajo spindle and cochineal dye workshops, but also helped connect us with other interesting fiber arts-related events and local culture. Director Olimpia is motivated, knowledgeable, and committed to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of northern New Mexican fiber arts. A truly great facet of the store, for those interested in knitting, weaving, etc., is the resale section of donated yarn and fabric, which sells for the amazingly reasonable price of $8 -- $12 per pound! The new merchandise is high-quality and diverse, including such items as locally spun churro yarn incorporating wolf and bison hair. A worth-while stop whether you are passing through to browse the shop or staying for a workshop.

The Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center is a must-see regional destination for any lover of fiber-based crafts. They are a learning center for spinning, weaving, felting, knitting, crochet. Their workshop offerings are great for beginners and more advanced practitioners. They maintain an extensive library of books and patterns for various fiber crafts and arts. They also have a Bargain table of various yarns and fibers donated by local artists and crafters.

EVFAC features the fibers of local artists--local producers, local spinners, local dyers--and their signature line of yarns are spun in partnership with the local mill in the Mora Valley. They carry an extensive collection of fibers for spinning and dying, as well as yarns ready for use.

The friendly and knowledgable staff members offer assistance when you need it and also make space for you to browse and dream up new things you can do with what you find there.

I live in Portland OR, a real knitters' town, so I appreciate wonderful yarns, especially those made by local artists. A visit to the ABQ/Santa Fe/Taos area would not be complete without a visit to EVFAC.

The Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center was the best part of our trip to New Mexico! Even with so many other enjoyable things to do...skiing, a cooking class in the pueblos, hiking along New Mexico's beautiful trails...our day at the center was a run away favorite. After letting him pick fabric, the Center's encouraging teachers walked my 10 year son through each step of weaving a rug. By the end of a fun-filled morning, he had a beautiful heirloom he will keep forever!

Stopped in to see this unique spot at the start of our drive. As a crocheter and quilter I was fascinated and picked up some great yarn remnants at a great price.

All of the ladies were so friendly and took the time to explain and demonstrate their looms. All hand crafted arts to purchase. So glad we stopped in.

One of the best experiences in my life thus far. I called ahead, made my appointment, paid my deposit, showed up the day and at my appointed time and literally "walked in and learned to weave" on a loom. Amazing!!! Loved my instructor, Vanessa and her laid back direction. Although I was there for 2 hours, it didn't feel like it at all. Love this place and I plan on joining later this year or early next. Thank you, EVFAC!!!
